COUNTING ON (TLC) - The cable channel has pulled the plug on the series after 11 seasons. "TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On," read the statement. "TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately." (Deadline.com)
ECHOES (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has given a seven-episode order to "a mystery thriller about identical twins Leni and Gina, who share a dangerous secret. Since they were children, Leni and Gina secretly have swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults: They share two homes, two husbands and a child, but everything in their perfectly choreographed world is thrown into disarray when one of the sisters goes missing." Vanessa Gazy created the limited series with Brian Yorkey, who recently signed a multi-year overall deal with Netflix, and Quinton Peeples serving as showrunners. Imogen Banks will also executive produce for Endemol Shine Banks Australia. (Deadline.com)
FOR LIFE (ABC) - Producer Sony Pictures Television has extended the options on the recently canceled drama's cast until the end of July. The news comes as IMDb TV begins streaming the series for a limited, monthlong run with an eye towards a third season order should its performance merit. (Deadline.com)
IDOL, THE (HBO, New!) - Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, is attached to write and star in a potential drama at the pay channel which "follows a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult." Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim will also pen the project with Joseph Epstein, Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen and Aaron L. Gilbert also executive producing for Bron Studios. Mary Laws, Wassim "SAL" Slaiby and La Mar C. Taylor will co-executive produce. (Deadline.com)
IF YOU WERE ONLY WHITE (Apple TV+, New!) - Apple Studios is developing a TV series in partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum based on Donald Spivey's non-fiction book, subtitled "The Life of Leroy 'Satchel' Paige," which will "explore the epic and remarkable story of Negro League Baseball using the life and legacy of the legendary athlete and showman Leroy "Satchel" Paige, one of baseball's greatest pitchers and star of Negro Leagues for many years." Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Peter Guber, Ron Shelton, Aaron Kaplan, John Mass and Jason Smith are among the executive producers for Mandalay Television and Kapital Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
LOOT (Apple TV+) - Co-executive producers Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu have signed a two-year overall deal with the upcoming comedy's producer Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS (Netflix, New!) - The streamer has given a 10-episode order to a new drama based on Ali Novak's YA novel: "In the coming of age show, following the loss of her family in a tragic accident, 16-year old Manhattanite Jackie Howard has to learn to adapt to a new life in rural Colorado with her guardian - and 12 very rowdy kids." Melanie Halsall is spearheading the adaptation with Komixx Entertainment's Ed Glauser also executive producing for Sony Pictures Television International Productions. (Variety.com)
ON CALL (IMDb TV) - Ben Watkins and Elliot Wolf have signed onto the half-hour drama, which follows a pair of police officers on patrol in Long Beach, CA. They'll executive produce alongside Dick Wolf, Peter Jankowski, Matthew Segal and Taye Shuayb. (Deadline.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - Debbi Morgan will recur on the newcomer as Patricia Williams, aka Aunt Piggy, "Angela's (Yaya DaCosta) aunt, who moves with Angela and her teenage daughter Nikki (Alana Bright) to Martha's Vineyard. A real character, saucy and uninhibited, she's working class and makes no bones about it, but she has a lot of common sense when it comes to giving good advice to the sometimes overwhelmed Angela. Piggy is also hiding a few secrets of her own, including a connection to Oak Bluffs from many years ago." (Deadline.com)
