Pilot Update: April 15
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:

PLATONICALLY INCORRECT (ABC) - Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah ("Just Shoot Me") have signed on as executive producers/showrunners for the Touchstone's comedy pilot at ABC. The move is part of an exclusive development deal with the studio.

UNTITLED DAVID SCHWIMMER PROJECT (NBC, New!) - The "Friends" actor has signed a two-year development deal with the Peacock to develop, produce and direct series for the network. As part of the pact, Schwimmer receives a blind put pilot commitment for at least one half-hour project the actor develops. To date, Schwimmer has directed 10 episodes of "Friends."

UNTITLED TONY KORNHEISER PROJECT (CBS) - Tony Kornheiser himself told listeners on his ESPN radio show this morning that the pilot has been delayed due to casting issues. Mark Harmon had been in contention for the lead however was deemed "way too good looking" for the Kornheiser role. (Harmon went on to be cast in CBS' "J.A.G." spin-off.) Tony himself has been asked to read for the role however the sportswriter indicated he doesnt want to move to L.A., but they have offered him enough money to consider it. (Special thanks to Futon reader John Magee for this one.)

UNTITLED WHOOPI GOLDBERG PROJECT (NBC) - Dondre Whitfield ("Hidden Hills") and comedian Omid Djalili have signed on to Goldberg's untitled NBC comedy from Carsey-Werner-Mandabach. Goldberg stars as a former diva who runs a modest boutique hotel with her brother (Whitfield). Djalili will play the handyman at the hotel.
