Animated Housemates Settle In For More Reality! COMEDY CENTRAL Picks Up Option For A Second Season Of "Drawn Together The Hit Series From Creators Matt Silverstein And Dave Jeser

New Season Calls For 15 Episodes, Including A "Reunion" Special, Beginning 4Q 2005

NEW YORK, November 11, 2004 -- The "Drawn Together" cast better be used to all those cameras because they won't be leaving the house anytime soon. COMEDY CENTRAL has exercised the network's option for a second season of television's first animated reality series after only three episodes of cable's new sensation had aired, it was announced today by Lauren Corrao, senior vice president of original programming and head of development, COMEDY CENTRAL. The second season of "Drawn Together," created by Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser, will premiere during the fourth quarter of 2005 and consist of 15 episodes, including a "reunion" special.

"'Drawn Together' has been an immediate success for the network and our viewers and I am excited that we will be able to continue the adventure with a second season," said Corrao. "Suffice it to say, the animated characters created by Matt and Dave have many, many more escapades, contests, musical spoofs and other disorders to look forward to before we let them out of that house."

"We're astonished that COMEDY CENTRAL wants more of these things," said Silverstein and Jeser. "We didn't even think they wanted the ones they have now. Amazing. God bless COMEDY CENTRAL!"

Since its premiere on October 27, "Drawn Together" has proved to be a perfect complement to the network's stalwart, "South Park," forming an adult animation block that has dominated the cable television landscape on Wednesday nights. Through the first two episodes, "Drawn Together" has averaged 2.3 million total viewers (P2+) and a 1.4 rating in the key P18-49 demographic. Impressively, "Drawn Together" built on its premiere for week two, with total viewers up 7% to 2.4 million and the P18-49 rating up 12% to 1.5. For both weeks the series was the most-watched show on cable in its timeslot (10:30 p.m.) in that key demo as well as in all key male demos (M18-24, M18-34, M18-49 and M25-54).

Together, the power hour of "South Park" and "Drawn Together" (Wednesdays from 10:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m.) made COMEDY CENTRAL the most-watched cable network among all viewers (P2+), 18-49 viewers and all of the key male demos for week two of the run (11/3). In fact, the shows ranked #1 and #2 for the entire night amongst P18-49.

"Drawn Together" presents a world where cartoon characters from various genres of animation are brought together to live under one roof. The characters leave their animated "reality" and enter a new world where their cartoon universes collide with a bang, combining different styles of animation and different personalities, all "drawn together." This is COMEDY CENTRAL's first original animated series that is drawn traditionally and in 2-D digital ink and paint animation.

The eight stars/housemates represent iconic archetypes from the world of animation and include: "Captain Hero (Jess Harnell), a not-so-moral do-gooder reminiscent of the Saturday morning TV super heroes of the 70's; "Clara (Tara Stong), a 20-year-old sweet and naive fairy-tale princess; "Toot Braunstein (Tara Stong), a black and white pudgy heart throb from the 20s; "Foxxy Love (Cree Summer), a sexy mystery-solving musician; "Spanky Ham (Adam Carolla), a foul-mouthed internet download pig; "Ling-Ling (Abbey McBride), an adorable Asian trading card mini-monster; "Wooldoor-Sockbat (James Arnold Taylor), a wacky Saturday morning "whatchamacallit;" and "Xandir (Jack Plotnick), a strong young adventurer, similar to the great video game warriors.

Credits for "Drawn Together" include Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser as creators, writers and executive producers. The series is based on characters developed by Silverstein, Jeser and Jordan Young ("The Simpsons"). Zoe Friedman is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

Silverstein and Jeser previously served as writers on COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Man Show" as well as Fox's "Action" and "Andy Richter Controls the Universe."

COMEDY CENTRAL, the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 86 million homes nationwide. COMEDY CENTRAL is owned by Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of MTV Networks. COMEDY CENTRAL is a registered trademark of Comedy Partners. COMEDY CENTRAL's Internet address is http://www.comedycentral.com.
