TY TAYLOR IS THE TENTH PERFORMER ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION ON "ROCK STAR: INXS"

Five Contestants Remain In the Competition To Become The Lead Singer of the Band INXS

A Special One-Hour Broadcast Next Wednesday, Sept. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT)

After falling into the bottom three in viewer votes and after a collective decision by the band, INXS, Ty Taylor from Los Angeles, Calif. (originally from Montclair, NJ) was eliminated last night from the competition to become the new lead singer of INXS on ROCK STAR: INXS.

The five remaining performers will continue in the competition vying to become the new lead singer of INXS. ROCK STAR: INXS is broadcast on Tuesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) and will have a special one-hour episode this Wednesday, Sept. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. In addition, ROCK STAR: INXS will be broadcast Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on VH1. Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke are the hosts.

On Wednesday's special one-hour show, Suzie O'Neil was selected by the band for the second week in a row to do an encore performance of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," which she originally performed Tuesday night. In addition, INXS asked her to choose one other performer to be her opening act and she chose Marty Casey for his encore performance of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." Brooke Burke then informed the six performers that four of them were in the bottom three of viewer votes at some point over the course of the night: J.D. Fortune, Ty, Marty and Jordin Unga. To Marty's shock, it was discovered that, by the time all the votes were in, he received more than the bottom three combined! The three lowest vote-getters were then asked to perform an INXS song in front of a studio audience in a fight to stay in the competition. J.D. sang "This Time," Ty sang "The One Thing" and Jordis sang "Listen Like Thieves."

Ty learned his fate from Tim Farriss, a member of the band, who said, "He just wasn't right for their band, INXS." Ty Taylor becomes the tenth singer eliminated from the competition, following Dana Robbins, Wil Seabrook, Neal Carlson, Heather Luttrell, Daphna Dove, Tara Slone, Brandon Calhoon, Jessica Robinson and Deanna Johnston.

ROCK STAR: INXS is produced by Mark Burnett Productions. Mark Burnett, David Goffin ("American Idol"), Lisa Hennessy ("Eco-Challenge," "The Contender") and INXS managers David Edwards and Michael Murchison are executive producers. Conrad Riggs is co-executive producer.
