12th Annual SAG Awards Ceremonies to be Simulcast Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006 on TNT and TBS at 8 pm ET/PT

Ellen Pompeo, currently starring in the ABC series Greys Anatomy, and Benjamin Bratt, star of NBCs E-Ring, a SAG Award recipient for Traffic and five-time nominee for Law & Order, will join Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg to announce the nominees for the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Executive Producer Jeff Margolis announced today.

The SAG Awards nominations will be revealed at 6:07 a.m. PT on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, in the SilverScreen Theater at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. The nominations announcement will be telecast live on Turner Network Television (TNT) and on E! Entertainment Televisions half-hour SAG Awards Nominations special.

The 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, the only industry accolades devoted solely to actors honoring actors, will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. MT, from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles.

Ellen Pompeo stars as title character Meredith Grey in ABCs Golden-Globe nominated series Greys Anatomy. The Boston native first drew raves for her studio feature debut, Moonlight Mile, and for such hits as Old School and Catch Me If You Can.

Currently starring as Major James Tisnewski on NBCs E-Ring, Benjamin Bratt received his first Screen Actors Guild Award in 2001 for his outstanding performance as a member of the cast of the theatrical feature Traffic. He also received five consecutive Actor nominations from 1996-2000 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in A Drama Series for Law & Order, on which he starred as Detective Reynaldo Curtis, a role which also earned him a supporting actor Emmy nomination in 1999. Acclaimed for his performance as the playwright, poet and actor Miguel Piero in the 2001 feature Piero, he co-starred last year in the festival favorites The Woodsman and Thumbsucker,

Secret ballots bearing the names of potential nominees for outstanding performances during 2005, in eight television and five motion picture categories including the distinctive ensemble awards originated by the SAG Awards, were mailed on Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, to the film and television nominating panels, each comprised of 2100 randomlyselected SAG members from across the United States. The ballots will be returned by Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, directly to Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards official elections teller.

Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations are watched closely by the industry as a precursor of possible Oscar and Emmy recognition (all four actors honored with Actor statuettes for their individual lead and supporting motion picture performances at the 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards went on to receive Oscars.)

The 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards is executive-produced by Jeff Margolis and produced by Kathy Connell. Yale Summers, Karla Tamburrelli, Daryl Anderson, Shelley Fabares and Paul Napier are producers for SAG. Gloria Fujita OBrien and Mick McCullough are supervising producers. Alan Carter is the director, and Stephen Pouliot is the writer. Benn Fleishman is executive in charge of production.

Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is the nations largest labor union representing working actors. Established in 1933, SAG has a rich history in the American labor movement, from standing up to studios to break long-term engagement contracts in the 1940s to fighting for artists rights amid the digital revolution sweeping the entertainment industry in the 21st century. With 20 branches nationwide, SAG represents nearly 120,000 working actors in film, television, industrials, commercials, video games and music videos. The Guild exists to enhance actors working conditions, compensation and benefits and to be a powerful, unified voice on behalf of artists rights. Headquartered in Los Angeles, SAG is a proud affiliate of the AFL-CIO. You can visit SAG online at www.sag.org.

Turner Network Television (TNT), televisions destination for drama and one of cables top-rated networks, offers original movies and series, including Into the West, an epic six-week television event from DreamWorks Television and master storyteller and executive producer Steven Spielberg; the detective drama series The Closer, starring Kyra Sedgwick, and the action-packed crime series Wanted, with Gary Cole; powerful one-hour dramas, such as Law & Order, Without a Trace, Alias, Las Vegas, Cold Case, ER, NYPD Blue, Charmed, Judging Amy and Angel; broadcast premiere movies; and championship sports coverage, including NASCAR and the NBA.
