By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

THE BIG C (Showtime) - Creator Darlene Hunt has inked a two-year overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television. The pact, financial details of which weren't specified, comes on the heels of fellow executive producer Jenny Bicks signing a similar deal with the producer. Like Bicks, she'll continue on the series for the foreseeable future and develop new series projects.

BORED TO DEATH (HBO) - David Rasche ("Rubicon") is set to recur on the show's upcoming third season. He'll play Bernard Morse, "a West Coast rival for George Christopher (Ted Danson); a health nut with an affinity for Scottish Terriers, and he made his fortune in Silicon Valley with Philip K. Dick-like innovations."

HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA (HBO) - Nicole Laliberte and Gina Gershon have landed recurring roles on the show's sophomore season. The former will play Lulu, "a hipster native New Yorker who owns a Lower East Side clothing boutique," while details about Gershon's character weren't specified. In addition, Isaac Mizrahi is set to appear in a guest spot.

HUNG (HBO) - Analeigh Tipton ("America's Next Top Model") has booked an arc on the show's third season. She'll play Sandee, "a seemingly naive cake decorator who battles master manipulator Lenore (Rebecca Creskoff) for control of her virile fiance (Stephen Amell)."

PASSPORT (NBC, New!) - Robyn Lively and Loren Dean are set to star in P&G Productions' latest original movie, about Meredith (Lively), an expert chef who - alongside her teen kids - embarks on a quest to find her geologist husband Simon (Dean), who had been leading a double-life as a covert intelligence operative. Paolo Garzman is directing the project, with Joel Rice, Jeff Grant and Brian Wells executive producing. Production begins later this month in Montreal.

REEL LOVE (CMT) - Burt Reynolds has joined the cast of the upcoming LeAnn Rimes-led original movie, about "a successful, big city girl who returns to her small town roots after a family emergency." He'll play her father, "a grizzled ex-Army, ex-cop, ex-trucker." Sharon Weil Aaron wrote the project, to be directed by Brian K. Roberts. Production begins later this month in Ontario for a September premiere.

U-BOAT (TBS, New!) - "Glory Daze" co-creator Walt Becker is back in business with the cable channel, this time for a potential buddy detective dramedy. Dave Caplan ("Rizzoli & Isles") penned the hour on spec while Becker is attached to direct and executive produce alongside Caplan. No other details were given.

UNTITLED DAN GOOR PROJECT (NBC) - Christopher Lloyd, Octavia Spencer, Courtney Henggeler, Eddie Pepitone and Fahim Anwar have all been cast in the comedy pilot, about Adam Foote (Andrew J. West), a young doctor who spends as much time taking care of his parents as he does his patients. Lloyd will play his crotchety grandfather, Dr. Robert Passion Foote. Anwar then is set as the harried Dr. Manish Patel; Spencer as the always cranky RN Helen Overby; Henggeler as the very attractive drug rep Chelsea; and comedian Pepitone presumably as Roy Musel, Adam's perpetual patient. Audrey Esparza, Brad Morris, Jean Smart and Jere Burns also star in the half-hour, from Universal Media Studios.

UNTITLED DOUG JUNG/EDDIE IZZARD PROJECT (FX, New!) - "The Riches" star Eddie Izzard and "Dark Blue" co-creator Doug Jung are set to team for a potential new drama at the cable channel about Eddie Braun (Izzard), "a disgraced ex-congressman who, after a sexual scandal, has become a new kind of political fixer for hire." Jung will pen the Collective-based hour off an idea he developed with Izzard. No other specifics were given.

WHITE COLLAR (USA) - Moran Atias (Starz's "Crash") has booked a potentially recurring role on the series. She'll play Christie, Marsha Thomason's "oft-referred-to-but-never-seen onscreen sweetheart" in an upcoming installment, "a cardiologist who brings out Diana's lighter side with her sweet smile and scalpel-edged wit. Her access to the pharmaceutical world proves to be invaluable to the FBI's latest case."
