Development Update: Wednesday, May 11
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

BOB'S BURGERS (FOX) - The network reportedly plans to hold off on the show's 13-episode second season until 2012, opting instead to launch newcomer "Allen Gregory" this fall behind "The Simpsons." FOX ordered seven episodes of "Gregory" - about the world's most celebrated seven-year-old embarking on the greatest challenge of his life: attending elementary school with regular kids - back in October as well as six installments of fellow animated newbie "Napoleon Dynamite," based on the cult film of the same name.

CRIMINAL MINDS (CBS) - Shemar Moore has closed a deal to return for the veteran procedural's seventh season. Said pact - valued at about $100,000 per episode, up from his current $50,000 per episode salary - leaves Thomas Gibson as the only remaining cast member without a deal to return as negotiations continue on that front. The series also stars A.J. Cook, Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness and Matthew Gray Gubler. Producer ABC Studios also has an option on co-star Paget Brewster, who's attached to the NBC comedy pilot "My Life as an Experiment."

FRINGE (FOX) - Seth Gabel will reportedly be upped to series regular for the show's upcoming fourth season. He'll continue on as Lincoln Lee, a member of the Fringe Divison "over there" and a mild-mannered FBI desk jockey in our universe.

NICKEL (FX, New!) - "The Chicago Code's" Shawn Ryan and Davey Holmes are developing a new drama at the cable channel about an ex-con who uses a self-help book to inspire him to become a better criminal. Said hour is set up at Fox 21 with Holmes spearheading the project while Ryan transitions to his new overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.

TERRA NOVA (FOX) - Rene Echevarria has inked a two-year, seven-figure overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television. The pact covers his duties on the much-ballyhooed drama, where he serves as showrunner, as well as any future development. Production on the series resumes next month in Australia while some reshoots of the two-hour pilot are planned.

THE WEDDING BAND (TBS) - The cable channel is reportedly on track to order the drama pilot, about a group of guys who try to escape the stress and craziness of their lives by performing in a wedding band, to series. Brian Austin Green, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau, Jenny Wade, Kathryn Fiore, Melora Hardin and Peter Cambor all star in the project, from FremantleMedia North America and Tollin Productions. Darin Moiselle and Josh Lobis are the co-creators. On the flip side, fellow pilots "Brain Trust" and "Hound Dogs" aren't expected to move forward to series. TBS and sibling TNT formally unveil their 2011-12 lineup next Wednesday.
