AMC Shutters Unscripted Division, Save for "Talking Dead," "Comic Book Men"

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- AMC is pulling out of the unscripted arena, halting production and development on all its reality programming.
The lone exceptions: "Talking Dead" and "Comic Book Men," both of which will continue to lead out of its Sunday juggernaut "The Walking Dead."
"Scripted originals are at the core of the AMC brand," the network said in a statement to Deadline.com. "Iconic shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead have driven AMC's evolution into a must-have television network. We are proud of our efforts in unscripted programming and the unique worlds we have been able to introduce, but in an environment of exploding content options for viewers, we have decided to make scripted programming our priority."
Said news spells the end of "Owner's Manual," "The Pitch," "Freakshow," "Small Town Security" and "4th & Loud," all of which were awaiting decisions about their futures, as well as "Game of Arms," which was previously picked up for a second season.
AMC has likewise shuttered its plans for new reality series "All Star Celebrity Bowling," "Untitled Billy Corgan Wrestling Project" and "Visionaries."
