BROOKLYN ANIMAL CONTROL (USA/UCP; W: J.T. Petty; D: Brian Kirk) - Jane Alexander and James Callis have both scored roles on the drama pilot, based on the comic book of the same name which follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for some of the city's most unique citizens - werewolves. She'll play Vilhelmiina Tolk, "the charismatic matriarch of a small community of Brooklyn werewolves"; while he's set as Vilhelmiina's youngest son Theodore who believes that, "despite centuries of matriarchy, he could claim his mother's mantle." Stephen Graham also stars. (THR.com)

LEGALEASE (CBS, New!) - Halle Berry has sold a new drama to the Eye about "a biracial lawyer from Chicago who follows a case to New Orleans, where she finds herself partnering with a good ol' boy white attorney while working in a very particular justice system that will ultimately expose the biases we all harbor." Steven Lichtman will pen the project for CBS Television Studios with Berry, Lichtman, Dan Thomas and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas serving as executive producers. Said commitment comes as CBS has opted not to move forward with a third season of the Berry-led "Extant." (Deadline.com)

OUT OF BODY (CBS, New!) - Jennifer Johnson ("Chase") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama about "a former criminal who inexplicably begins to jump into bodies of people in danger and has to use his skills to prevent them from being murdered or he could end up in a body bag himself." Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions is behind the project with Todd Garner, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)

R.O.M.E.O.S, THE (ABC, New!) - Ian Roberts and Jay Martel ("Key & Peele") have sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "two completely dissimilar 65-year-old neighbors who join forces to take full advantage of their second acts - driving each other, and everyone around them, crazy in the process." ABC Studios is behind the project, which stands for Retired Older Men Eating Out. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED CHRIS FEDAK PROJECT (CBS, New!) - "Chuck" co-creator Chris Fedak has snagged a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama about "a young tech genius billionaire who utilizes his cutting-edge technology and resources to partner with a street-smart but old-school San Francisco police detective to solve crimes committed by 21st century criminals." Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions are also among the executive producers. Fedak currently serves as an executive producer on the fellow Berlanti-produced "DC's Legends of Tomorrow." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED KEVIN JAMES PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Kevin James ("The King of Queens") is back in business with the Eye for a new multi-camera comedy about "a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids only to discover he faces much tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets." The project, which has a 13-episode commitment, will be co-created by James, Rock Reuben and Bruce Helford. Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios are behind the half-hour, the result of a first-look deal James signed with the former back in April, with Hey Eddie Productions' Jeff Sussman also serving as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)

WILDING, THE (USA/UCP; W: Silka Luisa; D: Ciarán Foy) - Lisa Gay Hamilton ("Men of a Certain Age") is the latest addition to the two-hour backdoor pilot, about a typical, loving blended family seeking a fresh start after their 17-year-old daughter, Kayla, is released from a mental health institution following ten years of treatment. She's set as Dr. Emily Bergom, "pharmaceutical researcher and mother of three who becomes desperate to assert her sanity when she begins to experience auditory hallucinations that place her family and career in jeopardy." Jordana Spiro also stars. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - FOX will halt production on struggling newcomer "Minority Report" after 10 episodes but continue to air the series on Monday nights (Deadline.com); Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot's Warner Bros. Television-based Offspring Entertainment has acquired the TV rights to Kresley Cole's young adult novels "The Arcana Chronicles" (Deadline.com); and Francois Arnaud will recur on NBC's "Blindspot" as "a mysterious character from Jane's distant past" (Deadline.com).
