BIG LITTLE LIES (HBO) - Meryl Streep has signed onto the show's second season as Mary Louise Wright, "the mother of Perry (played by Alexander Skarsgard in Season 1). FOR LOVE (ABC, New!) - Michael Cooney has snagged a pilot order for his new drama, about Hope Castille: "Five years ago, her fiancé was killed. This morning she received a phone call from him. An epic love triangle set against a grounded, secret world of magic in present day New Orleans." Kim Moses also serves as an executive producer for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HISTORY OF THEM (CBS) - Brett Dier has booked the male lead in the comedy pilot, about how two friends fell in love, narrated by their future daughter, using the couple's social media from present-day as a guide. He'll play one half of said duo, Adam, an "adorable and a little nerdy web cartoonist. He's been mostly a serial monogamist but is determined to sow his oats before getting into his next long term relationship." Ana Villafañe also stars as the female lead, Luna. (Deadline.com)
KRYPTON (Syfy) - Hannah Waddingham has been cast as Jax-Ur in the Superman prequel series: "Formerly one of Krypton's greatest scientists with deep ties to Krypton's past, Jax-Ur is now determined to bring radical change to Krypton as leader of the underground terrorist organization, Black Zero." (Deadline.com)
LAST OG, THE (TBS) - Co-star Tiffany Haddish has signed a two-year first-look deal with HBO. (Variety.com)
ORIGINALS, THE (The CW) - Nadine Lewington is bound for the show's swan song as Greta Sienna, "a calculating and charismatic vampire who cut her fangs in Europe in the 1920s and '30s. Now living in New Orleans, Greta has adapted nicely to her modern community, though she remains a woman of deep principles and harbors an almost zealous devotion to her family." (TVLine.com)
SALVAGE (ABC, New!) - Don Todd has likewise booked a pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama about "ex-cop Jimmy Hill who just wants to be left alone after moving back home in rural Florida. But when a local murder is linked to the sunken treasure of a lost Spanish galleon, he's drawn into the investigation by an idealistic deputy and pitted against the powerful town patriarch, outside criminal agents, and his own father." ABC Studios, home to his overall deal, is producing. (Deadline.com)
SUCCESSION (HBO) - Ashley Zukerman will recur on the upcoming drama as Nate, "a well-connected left-leaning political consultant. A family friend of the powerful Roy family and an ex-flame of Siobhan (Sarah Snook), but a flame that threatens to reignite." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LINDSEY ROSIN PROJECT (Freeform, New!) - Lindsey Rosin has sold a potential drama to the cable channel "set in a vibrant retirement community in Athens, GA. It follows a core cast of elder characters through their life in present day 2018 as well as flashing back in time to tell stories about their past. The first season's flashbacks will be set in the 1960s, when the elders were in their 20s, the same age as some of their present day grandchildren." Fine Brothers Entertainment's Benny and Rafi Fine will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
