9-1-1 (FOX) - Executive producer/showrunner Tim Minear has signed a new overall deal with producer 20th Century Fox Television. "I'm pleased to be able continue my collaboration with 20th, Dana and Gary and Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk," said Minear. "And I wasn't about to give up this parking space." Other showrunners who have recently signed new overalls with the studio include Kurt Sutter, Rich Appel and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel.
BELLEVUE (NBC) - Ryan Eggold ("Blacklist: Redemption") has scored the lead role on the drama pilot as Max Hollander, "who is driven to the point of exhausting himself and everyone around him, including his wife who recently separated from him. An internist, he has just been hired as medical director at the hospital, which he's going to restore to its former glory or get kicked out trying." (Deadline.com)
BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Laz Alonso has scored a role on the comic book-turned-TV series as Mother's Milk: "Second in command of the Boys, he's is a great detective, highly intelligent and observant and an intuitive investigator." (Deadline.com)
CHARMED (The CW) - Madeleine Mantock will join Melonie Diaz and Sarah Jeffery to round out the central trio in the reboot's pilot. She's set as Macy, "a practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist who has her world blown open when she discovers that the supernatural world is all too real." (Deadline.com)
FALSE PROFITS (ABC) - Vanessa Williams ("Desperate Housewives") is back in business with the Alphabet as part of the drama pilot. She'll play Suzanne Huggler, "chief of a highly successful "tribe" of Brava Natural saleswomen, and she wants to add Laura (Bellamy Young) to her cluster of money-making devotees." (Deadline.com)
GRAND HOTEL (ABC) - Wendy Raquel Robinson and Shalim Ortiz are both bound for the drama pilot, which is set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering around the family who owns the business, the staff who run it, and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior. Robinson will play Azalea Parnell a.k.a. "Mrs. P," "a lovable, no nonsense, staff manager at the hotel"; with Ortiz as Mateo, "the Director of Guest Experiences at the hotel who knows every guest by name." (Deadline.com)
I MOM SO HARD (CBS) - Tymberlee Hill is the latest bound for the multi-camera comedy pilot, which follows two moms (Kristin Hensley, Jen Smedley) who show how their friendship gets them through being wives and mothers. She will play Janice, "who works at a discount superstore while she works on her law degree. She loves her customers, knows them by name and makes the job fun with her sense of humor." (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Stephanie March will return to the series as Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot in an April episode in which "the search for an abducted woman and her young daughter leads Mariska Hargitay's Lt. Benson to cross paths with her friend, Cabot." (TVLine.com)
LIKE FAMILY (NBC) - Rebecca Mader has signed onto the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Aubrey (yet to be cast) and Artie (Brandon Mychal Smith), two twentysomething friends who met as foster children and now try to figure out what they want from life and each other in New York City. She'll play Camille, "who will do absolutely anything to stay young and beautiful. She writes a rich lady type blog, makes rich lady candles, has rich lady friends and rich lady problems." LOVECRAFT COUNTRY (HBO) - Yann Demange ("Top Boy") has been tapped to direct and executive produce the first episode of the J.J. Abrams/Jordan Peele-produced drama series, based on Matt Ruff's 2016 novel of the same name. (Deadline.com)
MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - Allison Miller is the latest bound for the ensemble drama pilot as Maggie, "who is amazing and comfortable in her own skin. She's a therapist and her career and her life are focused on the emotional." (Deadline.com)
OUR PEOPLE (FOX) - Beth Behrs ("2 Broke Girls") is set to star in the single-camera comedy pilot, about a man from a bombastic African family who doesn't have a word in their native language for "privacy" and his fiancée from a mid-western family try to build a normal life together. Though nobody can agree what that "normal" means. She'll play Jenny, "a Midwestern firecracker who is more inclined to fight against discrimination (or anything else) than Abel is." (Deadline.com)
ROSWELL (The CW) - Nathan Parsons, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis, Tyler Blackburn and Heather Hemmens have all booked roles in the netlet's proposed reboot of the series. Parsons will play Max, "a natural born leader and dedicated Roswell police officer who has kept a secret for years, concealing his origin and unearthly abilities"; with Cowles as Isobel: "Polished and restrained, Isobel wasn't meant for small-town life, but she lives it with all the grace and enthusiasm she can muster in order to keep her true origins a secret." Vlamis then is set as Michael: "Troubled but brilliant, he survived a violent childhood and now is secretly driven to find a way to escape Earth and the humans who have failed him, to return to a mysterious home he's never known." Blackburn will play Alex Manes: "Returning home from the Middle East after experiencing his fair share of psychological and physical trauma, Alex aims to adhere to his father's expectations, abandoning his dreams and the possibility of a future with the man he loves." And Hemmens rounds out the group as Maria, "Liz's fun, free-spirited former best friend and social media maven who is oblivious to the realities of Roswell." (Deadline.com)
SALVAGE (ABC) - Lacretta Nicole has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as Bouncy, "Jimmy's (Toby Kebbell) closest confidante and the owner of the local bar at the marina where Jimmy and everyone eats and drinks." (Deadline.com)
SUSPICION (NBC) - Jeri Ryan ("Body of Proof") is set to star opposite Derek Luke in the drama pilot, about Danny Goldman (Luke), who is coerced to work as an informant for the FBI after accepting a handshake loan from his new friend and millionaire neighbor. She'll play the latter's wife, Celina Canter, who "knows how to host the party to end all parties but still manages to stay humble and down to earth." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CHRIS LILLEY PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Australian comedian Chris Lilley ("Summer Heights High") has booked a 10-episode order from the streaming service for a new comedy series. No specifics were given about the project. Princess Pictures' Laura Waters will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED TIM DOYLE PROJECT (ABC) - Sawyer Barth is the latest bound for the single-camera comedy pilot, about an Irish-Catholic family with a working class dad (Michael Cudlitz), traditional mom (Mary McCormack) and eight sons as they struggle to cope in the turbulent 1970s. Barth will play Frank, "a snitch who is smug and overly concerned with "the rules."" (Deadline.com)
