25 WORDS OR LESS (Syndication, New!) - Meredith Vieira is set to host a new syndicated game show that is getting a three-week summer trial run beginning August 6 on Fox-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Charlotte. The series "pits two teams comprised of celebrities and civilians against each other in a fast-paced word game with a top prize of $10,000." Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky, Mary McCormack, Michael Morris, Bruce Sterten and John Quinn are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
BLINDSPOT (NBC) - Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has booked the top-secret recurring role of Madeline Burke in the show's fourth season. (TVLine.com)
CONFESS (AMC, New!) - Actor/writer Julie Delpy is looking to import the Israeli web series - which explores "the current hook up culture and how digital media is changing people's private lives" - at the cable channel. Jake Witzenfeld and Moshe Rosenthal, the creators of the original series, will also executive produce. (Variety.com)
JUICY STORIES (E!) - Madison Lawlor and Mia Serafino are set to star in the drama pilot, about the lives of Juicy Couture founders Pamela Skaist-Levy (Lawlor) and Gela Nash-Taylor (Serafino). Also cast in the project are Tanner Stine as Drew, "Gela's sexy, charismatic, actor/musician husband"; Shane Coffey as Jeff, "Pam's husband - a talented indie movie director who is smart, funny, and his wife's greatest champion"; Rachel Axelrod as Sheila, "the ballsy, brash and brilliant New York sales rep for Juicy"; Anne Bedian as Hafiza, "the mysterious and highly skilled pattern cutter for Juicy"; Marisela Zumbado as Juana, "the hardworking, no frills Juicy Warehouse Manager"; Jenn An as Patti, "a young woman with rock and roll style, who is Juicy's first designer"; and Jade Payton as Lucy, "an outgoing young woman who becomes Juicy's fearless brand ambassador." POWER (Starz) - Gary Lennon set to become co-showrunner on the series' sixth season as part of a new overall deal with the pay channel. He'll serve alongside creator Courtney Kemp. (Deadline.com)
SMILF (Showtime) - Creator/star Frankie Shaw has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Signature Studios, the company behind said series. The pact covers her duties on the project as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
TELL ME A STORY (CBSAA) - Zabryna Guevara and Dorian Missick are the latest bound for the upcoming psychological thriller. She'll play Renee Garcia, "a measured detective who operates by the book. While tough and unrelenting, she is not without empathy. She's the type of detective who trusts her instincts but knows hard evidence is paramount - exactly the type of cop you would want on a case." And he's set as Sam, "the ringleader of a group of criminals who is steadfast in his unlawful ways. Calculating, intense and undeterred, Sam has managed to fly under the radar and will go to any length to keep it that way." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ANISTON & WITHERSPOON PROJECT (Apple) - Emmy-winner Mimi Leder has signed onto the Reese Witherspoon/Jennifer Aniston-led series as an executive producer/director. (Deadline.com)
WHEN CALLS THE HEART (Hallmark) - Chris McNally and Kevin McGarry have both been tapped for the show's upcoming sixth season as Lucas Bouchard, "a charming gambler and saloon owner who is hiding more than a card up his sleeve"; and Nathan Grant, "the epitome of the strong, silent type and takes all his responsibilities to heart as the new Mountie in town," respectively. HBO and NFL Films Announce "Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North," An All-New Version of the Decorated Sports Series
New episodes, featuring the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers, will premiere December 3 and on subsequent Tuesdays through the end of the NFL regular season and continue into the NFL playoffs in January 2025.
