BOOMERANG (BET) - R.J. Walker's David Wright and Brittany Inge's Crystal Garrett have both been named regulars for the series' second season. (Deadline.com)
CLICKBAIT (Netflix, New!) - Australian writer Tony Ayres has sold an eight-episode series to the streaming service which "explores the ways in which our most dangerous and uncontrolled impulses are fueled in the age of social media, and reveals the ever widening fractures we find between our virtual and real life personas." NBCUniversal International Studios and Matchbox Pictures are behind the project, with Tony Ayres Productions' Ayres and Heyday Television's David Heyman executive producing. Christian White is co-creator and co-producer while Brad Anderson is lead director. (Deadline.com)
FIRST LADIES (Showtime, New!) - Viola Davis is attached to star as Michelle Obama in a potential drama for the pay channel "set in the East Wing of the White House, where many of history's most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America's charismatic, complex and dynamic first ladies." Aaron Cooley is behind the hour, which has a three-script commitment, with season one focusing on Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford and Michelle Obama. Cooley; JuVee Productions' Davis and Julius Tennon; Welle Entertainment's Cathy Schulman; Gaspin Media's Jeff Gaspin; and LINK Entertainment's Brad Kaplan are the executive producers for Lionsgate Television. FLIPPED (Quibi, New!) - Will Forte and Kaitlin Olson have signed on to star in a new comedy series for the short-form video service and Funny or Die about "chronically underemployed couple Jann (Forte) and Cricket Melfi (Olson), self-proclaimed home renovation "experts" who are more than confident they are television's next great home design celebrity duo." Steve Mallory and Damon Jones are behind the project, which also features Eva Longoria, Arturo Castro and Andy Garcia as members of a drug cartel who kidnap the clueless pair to renovate their sprawling homes. Director Ryan Case, Joe Farrell and Jim Ziegler also executive produce while Steve Burgess co-executive produces and Adrien Finkel and Whitney Hodack serve as producers. (Deadline.com)
GOLDBERGS, THE (ABC) - Adam F. Goldberg is stepping down as showrunner of the veteran comedy. Chris Bishop and Alex Barnow will succeed Goldberg as the creator, who is expected to focus on development for ABC Studios via his new overall deal. (Deadline.com)
MAD ABOUT YOU (Spectrum) - Original cast members John Pankow and Richard Kind have booked return trips for the revival series as Ira Buchman and Mark Devanow, respectively. (Deadline.com)

PANDORA (The CW) - Manu Bennett and Charisma Carpenter will both drop by the summer drama. The former will play Leone Vokk, "an intergalactic bounty hunter sent by the malevolent Parallax Corporation to capture Jax (Priscilla Quintana) and gain the secret of portal technology." The latter then is "a mysterious woman named Laura, who might have all the answers to Jax's questions about her origins, but who also might be Jax's most dangerous enemy yet." (ComicBook.com)
ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (The CW) - Justina Adorno is joining the cast of the show's second season as Steph who is a "witty, sharp-tongued, well-educated young woman, who isn't afraid to express her opinions - even though they tend toward controversial in some circles." (EW.com)
UNPROFESSIONALS (CBS, New!) - Andy Schwartz is set to team with fellow writers Randy and Jason Sklar and director Jay Chandrasekhar for a new single-camera comedy at the Eye billed as "a behind the scenes look at a group of the least important people working at one of the world's most important places: The United Nations." Lionsgate Television-based Point Grey Pictures is behind the project with the company's Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Alex McAtee also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
WHAT/IF (Netflix) - Actress Renee Zellweger has signed a two-year, exclusive first-look deal with MGM Television. The pact gives the company first crack at the output from Zellweger and Carmella Casinelli's The Big Picture Co. banner. (THR.com)
WOKE (Hulu) - The Lamorne Morris-led comedy pilot - about "a cartoonist living in San Francisco on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident involving cops changes everything, putting him in a state of "woke" - has been ordered to series by the streaming service. Keith Knight and Marshall Todd are behind the Sony Pictures Television-based project with Olive Bridge Entertainment's Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz; Cloud Nine Productions' Eric Christian Olsen and Kate Schumaecker; John Will and showrunner Aeysha Carr also executive producing.
