GROWING FLORET (Magnolia, New!) - The Chip and Joanna Gaines fronted network has commissioned a new series which "centers around Floret Flower Farm in Washington's Skagit Valley, one of the most successful organic flower farms in the United States. It follows founder Erin Benzakein and her team as they attempt to turn more than 20 acres of chemically damaged and overfarmed land into an extension of their fully functioning, self-sustaining, organic flower farm. They have one year (i.e. one full growing cycle) to get the job done." No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
HARLEM'S KITCHEN (ABC) - Delroy Lindo has closed his deal to topline the drama pilot, "set in a fine dining restaurant in Harlem and centers on Ellis Rice (Lindo), Executive Chef and patriarch, who runs a successful restaurant with his wife and three daughters." (Deadline.com)
HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS) - Chuck Norris will drop by the show's two-hour series finale as Lee Phillips, "a retired sergeant major who is helping his mentee, Lincoln Cole (Lance Gross), hide from authorities in order to protect his anonymity. Phillips trained Lincoln, who is now a decorated former Marine Gunnery Sergeant with the Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team, so you can rest assured that the retired vet is quite the badass himself." (TVLine.com)
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES (Disney+) - Derek Hough will recur on the show's sophomore run as "Miss Jenn's (Kate Reinders) ex-boyfriend, Zack, a charming but sneaky actor who returns to Salt Lake to teach drama at East High's biggest rival, North High." (Deadline.com)
KUNG FU (The CW) - Hanelle Culpepper has signed on to direct and co-executive produce the reboot series pilot. (Variety.com)
MAVERICK (The CW) - Christopher Meyer and Zayne Emory have both booked roles on the Reina Hardesty-led drama pilot. Meyer will play Chase, "a handsome and effortlessly cool freshman at the school, Chase connects quickly with Kit as they are in all of the same classes. But he has many secrets to hide, even as the chemistry between them grows." And Emory will portray Lucas, "a popular sophomore at the university, Lucas is an old family friend of Kit's, as they grew up in similar elite circles. He's sweeter than his frat bro façade, and has been holding a torch for Kit for years, hoping the timing is now right." (Deadline.com)
ON MY BLOCK (Netflix) - Co-creator/executive producer Lauren Iungerich has signed a multi-year overall deal with the streaming service. (Deadline.com)
POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN (Starz) - Annalynne McCord is the latest bound for the prequel series as Toni, "a chic Upper East Side publicist who prides herself on her toughness and attitude." (Variety.com)
PROSPECT (ABC) - David Alan Grier is set to star opposite Hunter King in the single-camera comedy pilot as Mayor Ambrose: "Bigger than life, a bit of a scoundrel but super charming with a good heart, Mayor Ambrose is the mayor of the tiny western prairie town of Prospect. Known as somewhat of a wheeler-dealer, he will do anything to make his town work. And he knows that educating its inhabitants is the only way they, and his town, will succeed." (Deadline.com)
SEX/LIFE (Netflix) - Mike Vogel, Adam Demos and Margaret Odette are all bound for the Sarah Shahi-led drama series. Vogel will play Cooper Connelly, "a family man - the All-American guy with a heart of gold and a skyrocketing career who's given Billie the life she's always dreamed of"; with Demos as Brad Simon, "the heartbreak Billie never got over that rises from her past and turns her marriage and suburban life upside down"; and Odette as Sasha Snow, "Billie's ride-or-die and together, they unleashed their wildest, sexiest selves all over lower Manhattan - and all of its handsomest men." Additionally, Patricia Rozema, Jessika Borsiczky, Samira Radsi and Sheree Folkson have been tapped as directors of the eight-episode series. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DALEY, GOLDSTEIN & KINGSBURY PROJECT (CBS) - Hannah Simone and Elizabeth Hurley are the first to be cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot. Simone will play Penelope, "a smart, hard-working producer at a sports TV network, wife to airline pilot Josh, and mother of their challenging toddler, Levi. When they lose their longtime babysitter, Penelope's young, single mom Georgia (Hurley) comes to help and turns her well-ordered world upside down." Hurley then is the aforementioned Georgia, "fun-loving and a bit immature; she doesn't have the best judgment, especially when it comes to men. Georgia had Penelope when she was 17, and although she was a warm and loving single mom, their roles have reversed a bit now that Penelope is an adult. When Georgia becomes the babysitter to Penelope's toddler, she might get a chance to redeem herself, but then again chaos tends to follow her." In addition, Pamela Fryman has signed on to direct and executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED PHIL AUGUSTA JACKSON PROJECT (NBC) - Carl Tart, Echo Kellum and Justin Cunningham are the first to be cast in the single-camera comedy pilot.
