AMERICAN AUTO/SUPERSTORE (NBC) - Creator Justin Spitzer has signed a new four-year overall deal with Universal Television, continuing his run at the studio. The pact covers his duties on the newcomer as well as any future development via his Spitzer Holding Company banner. (Deadline.com)
FLORIDA MAN (Netflix) - The Edgar Ramírez-led drama has cast Isaiah Johnson as Benny, "the people-loving Haitian immigrant who owns the Florida motel"; Sibongile Mlambo as Clara, "Benny's wife, and the one whose eyes are more open to Florida's darker side"; Paul Schneider as Andy Boone, "local Coronado Beach police officer, mentored by Chief Sonny, whose loyalty is tested"; Lauren Buglioli as Kaitlin Fox, "Orlando TV news anchor, underestimated but whose determination to get a career-changing story threatens to derail everyone's criminal plans"; and Michael Esper in a yet-to-be-revealed role. HOW TO BE HUMAN (FOX, New!) - Brenda Hsueh has landed a multi-camera comedy at the network and FOX Entertainment about Eve, "a robot becoming sentient who breaks free from her lab so she can learn how to be human by living among them. But when she tries to convince three housemates to let her live with them, she realizes it's not going to be so easy." Party Over Here's Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Ali Bell will executive produce alongside Shoes Off Productions' Hsueh and Yvonne Cheng. (Deadline.com)
MANIFEST (NBC) - Producer Warner Bros. Television is reportedly making "if-come" deals with cast and writers in anticipation of Netflix ordering a fourth season of the former NBC series. (Deadline.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - Raven Goodwin and Nicole Chanel Williams will both recur on the newcomer. Goodwin will play Josephine, "Angela's (DaCosta) old college roommate and close friend. An accepted member of The Bluffs community, easy-going and good-humored, Josephine tries to ease Angela's entry into the close-knit society." And Williams is Taylor: "This 17-year-old fun-loving and open girl is Lauren's (Rhyon Nicole Brown) best friend, who enjoys the disruptive effect Nikki (Alana Bright) has on their tight circle of rich kids." PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN (HBO Max) - Zaria and Malia Pyles are the latest to book lead roles on the reboot series. Zaria will play Faran, "a poised, disciplined ballerina with aspirations to make it out of Millwood. But "A" isn't the only villain in Faran's life. In the world of ballet, it is death by a thousand microaggressions." And Pyles will portray Minnie, "the youngest of the Little Liars. Having survived a childhood trauma, Minnie spends most of her time in a virtual world, but she is more than capable of taking on the dark forces of Millwood - including "A."" (Deadline.com)
RENO 911! (Roku) - The streamer has confirmed it will produce four additional episodes of the former Quibi revival "that run at a full half-hour." Quibi commissioned a second season back in September but was shuttered three months later. (Variety.com)
SIGNIFICANT OTHERS (ABC, New!) - Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey have sold a new semi-autobiographical comedy to the Alphabet about "two best friends narrate the story of their twenties in Los Angeles and how their friendships evolved into a new type of chosen family." The project is set up at ABC Signature, home to the newly signed multi-year overall deal. The duo currently serve as co-executive producers on the fellow studio-based ABC series "Queens." UNTITLED CASTLEVANIA SPIN-OFF PROJECT (Netflix) - "Castlevania" executive producer Adi Shankar is "suing the production company and Kevin Kolde for excluding him from a planned spinoff." (THR.com)
WOOL (Apple TV+) - Oscar-winner Tim Robbins is set to star opposite Rebecca Ferguson in the upcoming series based on Hugh Howey's trilogy of dystopian novels.
