ALL RISE (CBS) - OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network is reportedly in talks with Warner Bros. Television to revive the series for a third season. The report adds the studio has entered negotiations with star Simone Missick to return and approached other cast members, including Wilson Bethel, Jessica Camacho and J. Alex Brinson. Said options expired at the end of June following its cancellation by CBS. (Deadline.com)
ARMOR WARS (Disney+) - Yassir Lester has been tapped as head writer of the Marvel Studios series featuring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine who must face what happens when Tony Stark's tech falls into the wrong hands. (Deadline.com)
GIRL FROM PLAINVILLE, THE (Hulu) - Oscar nominee Chloë Sevigny is joined the cast of the Elle Fanning-led drama as Lynn Roy, "Coco's (Colton Ryan) mother. She's intelligent and caring, with a dry sense of humor. As she grapples with guilt over her son's death, she faces adversity with stoic determination and discovers that his life was more complicated than she had thought." (Deadline.com)
JEOPARDY! (Syndication) - Mike Richards has stepped down as the new host of the veteran game show. The news comes "after multiple controversies from his past emerged in the last few weeks." It's understood guest hosts will now kick off the new season as the search for a permanent host resumes. Richards will remain an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
MAGIC: THE GATHERING (Netflix) - Jeff Kline has been tapped to executive produce the streamer's adaptation of the popular tabletop trading-card game. He'll succeed Joe and Anthony Russo as well as head writers Henry Gilroy and Jose Molina who had "different visions for how best to adapt the IP." Also newly on board are co-executive producer/story editor Steve Melching, supervising director Audu Paden, art director Izzy Medrano and writers Nicole Dubuc, Russell Sommer & Dan Frey, and Taneka Stotts. Snowball Studios will likewise take over for the originally announced Bardel Studio. (Deadline.com)
MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, THE (Showtime) - Emmy nominee Kate Mulgrew has signed onto the upcoming Chiwetel Ejiofor-led drama as Drew Finch, "an operative who stands at the very top of the dangerous slopes of the CIA and a collector of secrets. Emotionally fearless, a master of finding and exploiting the weak link, Finch has to battle to keep her own past in the dark while playing for the biggest stakes of her life." (Deadline.com)
THING ABOUT PAM, THE (NBC) - Josh Duhamel will star opposite Renée Zellweger in the limited series as Joel Schwartz, "the defense attorney for Russ Faria." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LAKERS PROJECT (HBO) - Sean Patrick Small, Rachel Hilson and Olli Haaskivi are the latest bound for the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers series. Small will play legendary basketballer Larry Bird, taking over for Bo Burnham. No reason for Burnham's exit was given. Hilson then stars as Cindy Day, "Magic's girlfriend"; with Haaskivi as "Nike's enigmatic and forward-thinking founder, Phil Knight." (Deadline.com)
WITH LOVE (Amazon) - Renée Victor and Pepe Serna are both slated to recur on the one-hour romantic comedy series. Victor will play Marta Delgado, "grandmother to Lily, Jorge and Sol and married to Luis (Serna). She wants to know everything about everybody in the family and while she is very accepting she is uncompromising about church attendance." Serna's Luis Delgado is "Marta's husband and grandfather to Lily, Jorge and Sol. He's the founder of the family's Mexican restaurant, Casa based on his mother's recipes. Still very attracted to his beautiful wife, Marta." (Deadline.com)
WOMEN OF THE MOVEMENT (ABC) - Emmy nominee Timothy Hutton is set to recur on the limited series as Jesse J. Breland, "lead defense council in the trial of J.W. Milam and Roy Bryant for the murder of Emmett Till." (Deadline.com)
