60 MINUTES+ (Paramount+) - The network has nixed the streaming spin-off of the CBS News mainstay. "We are proud of the team at '60 Minutes+' and of the stories they produced, which informed the audience about some of the most important issues of our time," Paramount+ said in a statement. "Their journalism was recognized with several awards, including a Gracie, National Headliner and NABJ Salute to Excellence Award. The excellent work that has been done by the 60+ team will continue to be on Paramount+." (Variety.com)
ANNE RICE'S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (AMC) - Christian Robinson will recur on the series as Levi, "an upstanding Baptist from the Louisiana country who has won the heart of Louis's (Jacob Anderson) sister Grace (Kalyne Coleman)." (Variety.com)
GENTEFIED (Netflix) - The streamer has canceled the half-hour Latinx dramedy after two seasons. (Deadline.com)
HOME WORK (Magnolia Network) - Candis and Andy Meredith's series is returning the linear network and discovery+ after allegations of shoddy work and overcharging. "Magnolia Network is dedicated to sharing hopeful and genuine stories. In doing that, we strive to meet people with compassion and to cautiously approach difficult moments with honest understanding," Magnolia's president Allison Page said in a statement. "After speaking with homeowners as well as Candis and Andy Meredith regarding renovation projects for Home Work, and hearing a mix of both positive and negative experiences, we do not believe there was ill or malicious intent. Our commitment now is to provide appropriate resolutions for those whose experience with Home Work fell short of our network's standards. While Home Work will return to Magnolia Network, we recognize the responsibility we have to act on how we can better support not only our talent, but those who put their trust in them and this brand." (Deadline.com)
IMMIGRANT, THE (Hulu) - Murray Bartlett will star opposite Kumail Nanjiani in the limited series as Nick De Noia: "Producer-choreographer Nick De Noia is a charming, fast-talking New Yorker who's certain he's God's gift to entertainment. Just ask him. He is the person responsible for transforming Chippendales from a seedy male strip joint in West LA to the global juggernaut it would one day become. A man of many passions, Nick loves drinking, drugs, women, men-and most of all, show biz." (Deadline.com)
JUSTICE U (The CW, New!) - David Ramsey is attached to star in a potential DC Comics series at the network in which he'll reprise his "Arrow" role of John Diggle: "After spending years fighting alongside masked heroes, Diggle (Ramsey) embarks on a new mission to recruit five young meta humans to live undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university. There he will oversee their education and train them to become the heroes of tomorrow. The show is based on characters from the DC pantheon." He'll also direct the debut installment from a script by Michael Narducci and Zoanne Clack. They'll likewise executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden of Berlanti Productions as well as Geoff Johns for Warner Bros. Television. Ramsey has also signed a directing deal with Berlanti Productions where he'll continue to helm installments as well as appear on-camera. (Variety.com)
KILLING EVE (BBC America) - The show's upcoming final season has promoted Camille Cottin's Hélène to a series regular. Additionally, Anjana Vasan has joined the cast as Pam, "a young new assassin-in-training, Pam is an outsider whose work in the family funeral business was solace for her despite her bully of a brother"; with Robert Gilbert as Yusuf, "warm and charismatic, Yusuf is an ex-army, alpha bad boy who works with Eve and helps her on her mission of revenge"; and Marie-Sophie Ferdane will recur as Gunn, "an assassin with even more issues than Villanelle." (Deadline.com)
MOON KNIGHT (Disney+) - May Calamawy has joined the Marvel Studios series in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (THR.com)
OTHER HAMILTON, THE (HBO Max, New!) - Carlos Foglia, Ashley Nicole Black and Keith Josef Adkins are set to team for a potential drama series at the streamer which "tells the true story of Jeremiah Hamilton, a Haitian immigrant turned Wall Street tycoon in the 1800's who became one of the first Black millionaires using questionable - often illegal - methods. By scamming insurance companies and capitalizing on others' losses, he earns the moniker Prince of Darkness." Don Cheadle, Karyn Smith-Forge, Steven Soderbergh, Steven Baigelman, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman will also executive produce the project, based on Shane White's book "Prince of Darkness: The Untold Story of Jeremiah G. Hamilton, Wall Street's First Black Millionaire," for This Radicle Act Productions and Industrial Media. (Variety.com)
POWER BOOK II: GHOST (Starz) - The show's third season has tapped David Walton as Lucas Weston, "an adventure-seeking, left-leaning high-level executive at his family's Wall Street firm"; Moriah Brown as Kiki Travis, "a young VP at a Wall Street firm"; and Monique Curnen as NYPD Detective Blanca Rodriguez (returning from season one), all new series regulars. (Deadline.com)
REAL STEEL (Disney+, New!) - Shawn Levy is developing a TV series at the streamer based on his 2011 film, which "followed an-boxer and father, played by Hugh Jackman, and son, played by Dakota Goyo, as they reconcile years of distance and discover an obsolete junkyard sparring robot who just might be more than it seems." Levy, Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Jacqueline Levine, Susan Montford and Don Murphy will executive produce for Disney Branded Television, 20th Television and 21 Laps Entertainment. The search is underway for a writer. (Deadline.com)
RIVERDALE (The CW) - The network has pushed its midseason return from March 6 to March 20. Said change was made due to the rescheduling of "The 27th Critics' Choice Awards" from January 9 to March 13, which would have disrupted the show's return.
SESAME STREET (HBO Max) - Sal Perez has been named executive producer for the iconic children's television series' 53rd season. Perez, the first Latinx executive producer in the show's history, will replace Ben Lehmann, who is stepping down after five seasons. (THR.com)
THEY CAN'T KILL US ALL (AMC) - Wesley Lowery's book about the Black Lives Matter movement is being developing as a TV series by the cable channel, "which looks at the movement, from its beginnings in Ferguson, MO after the killing of Michael Brown, while also offering a historically informed look at the standoff between the police and those they are sworn to protect." The project comes from Don Cheadle's This Radicle Act and Brad Weston's Makeready who will executive produce alongside Lowery. No writer was indicated. LaToya Morgan previously mounted an adaptation for the network in 2017. (Deadline.com)
UNPLANNED IN AKRON (CBS, New!) - Schuyler Helford has sold a multi-camera comedy to the Eye "about two teenagers navigating parenthood in the best way they know how. With a little help from their friends and parents, they will learn that no matter what age you are, taking care of a child is no joke - but sometimes, you just gotta laugh (or cry) your way through it." Emily R. Wilson, Samie Kim Falvey and Erik Feig of Picturestart, and Chris Mills and Chris Emerson of Authentic Talent and Literary are the executive producers with Helford serving as a co-executive producer.
