Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" Is the Week's #1 Drama for the 3rd Week Running

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 5/13/13 (Week #34):

Based on Nielsen's TV playback data among Adults 18-49, ABC claimed 2 of the week's 3 biggest gainers via time-shifted viewing, with Modern Family tacking on +2.0 rating points and Grey's Anatomy adding on +1.4 rating points to their initial Live + Same Day numbers. ABC also had 2 of the 3 biggest overall gainers, with Modern Family picking up +4.09 million viewers and the season finale of Castle gaining another +3.46 million viewers in the Live + 7 Day statistics.

ABC's Modern Family surged ahead of the Monday edition of The Voice for the 3rd week in a row in the Live + 7 Day ratings, beating the NBC unscripted series by more than a full rating point (+1.1 rating points - 5.6 vs. 4.5). In addition, the ABC sitcom increased its lead over the Tuesday telecast of The Voice to 33% in the L+7 numbers (versus +3% in the initial Live + Same Day ratings). Modern Family also grew its advantage over the season finale of Fox's American Idol (on Thursday, 5/16/13) to +1.4 rating points (in the initial L+SD ratings, Modern edged out the Idol finale by a margin of 1-tenth of a rating point).

In the Live + 7 Day ratings, the season finale of ABC's Grey's Anatomy emerged as TV's #1 drama of the week for the 3rd straight week in Adults 18-49 (4.5 rating), tied with CBS' NCIS finale. Initially, in the Live + Same Day ratings, Grey's ranked behind the CBS drama by 3-tenths of a rating point.

Please note: ABC's Once Upon a Time and Revenge aired their season finales the prior week.

Season-to-Date TV Playback (9/24/12-5/19/13):

Based on TV playback data for the 2012-13 season, ABC's Modern Family is the season's biggest gainer via time-shifted viewing in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, adding on +4.49 million viewers and +2.2 rating points. The ABC sitcom is Wednesday's #1 TV show this season with Adults 18-49, defeating Fox's American Idol-Weds by nearly two full rating points (+1.8 rating points - 6.4 vs. 4.6). In addition, Modern Family beats NBC's The Voice by 21% (5.3) and The Voice-Tues by 33% (4.8) this season to date.

Grey's Anatomy is this season's #1 broadcast drama among Adults 18-49 (4.7 rating), based on original telecasts.
