HELIX (Syfy/Sony; W: Cameron Porsandeh; D: David Slade) - Billy Campbell ("The Killing") has been tapped for the lead role on the upcoming drama, about a team of scientists investigate a possible disease outbreak in an Arctic research facility and find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation. He'll play the emotionally troubled CDC pathologist Dr. Alan Farragut, who "is just getting over a failed marriage and the affair his wife had with his brother, who now needs his help after becoming infected with a deadly disease." Ronald D. Moore, Steven Maeda and Lynda Obst also serve as executive producers on the project, which premieres in January. (Deadline.com)

YOU'RE THE WORST (FX, New!) - Stephen Falk ("Orange Is the New Black") has sold a potential comedy to the cable channel about "two toxic self-destructive people who fall in love and attempt a relationship." No other details were given about the project. (Deadline.com)
