BROADCHURCH (FOX; W: Chris Chibnall; D: TBA) - David Tennant is set to reprise his role on the network's import of the U.K. series, which follows the tragic and mysterious death of a young boy found dead on an idyllic beach surrounded by rocks and a jutting cliff-face, from where he may have fallen. Although the cause of his death remains unsolved, the picturesque seaside town where the tragedy occurred is at the heart of a major police investigation and a nationwide media frenzy. He played Detective Inspector Alec Hardy in the original. In addition, Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein ("In Treatment") have been tapped as showrunners of the project. (Deadline.com)

EXP (A.K.A. UNTITLED JARRETT CONAWAY/ZACH CRALEY PROJECT) (The CW/Warner Bros.; W: Jarrett Conaway & Zach Craley; D: TBA) - Jarrett Conaway and Zach Craley's drama has been further detailed as revolving around "what happens when a foreign designer drug - engineered to make you faster, smarter, stronger and better in every way - is trafficked illegally into American high schools, weaving a morally and socially complex web that entangles politicians, law enforcement and teenagers looking for an edge in an ever-competitive and fast-paced world." Warner Bros. Television is behind the hour with Tim Kring, Zak Kadison and Bradley Thomas executive producing. Conaway and Craley then will serve as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)

FARGO (FX/FX Productions/MGM; W: Noah Hawley; D: Adam Bernstein) - Colin Hanks ("Dexter") is the latest addition to the limited series, an adaptation of the classic Academy Award winning feature film of the same title by Joel & Ethan Coen. Hanks will play Duluth Police Deputy Gus Grimly, "a single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer." Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman also star in the series. (Deadline.com)

THE MONEY (HBO; W: David Milch; D: Justin Chadwick) - Andrea Riseborough (Oblivion) and David Harewood ("Homeland") have both been cast in the drama pilot, about "wealth and corruption among the super elite, focusing on American mogul and patriarch James Castman (Brendan Gleeson), who wields power and influence to expand his media empire and control his family." She'll play Anna Elkin, "Oxford educated and a self-made success who is an editor at a top NY newspaper." Harewood then is set as Kurt Corbitt, "a grandiose, boisterous, irascible ideologue and the CEO of the parent company to Castman's holdings." Nathan Lane also stars. (Deadline.com, THR.com)

THE ROYALS (E!/Lionsgate; W: Mark Schwahn; D: TBA) - Jim Piddock ("Family Tree") and Vincent Regan ("Strike Back") have both scored a role in the drama pilot, a contemporary family ensemble steeped in all of the regal opulence of the British Monarchy and framed by Shakespeare's "Hamlet." The latter will play King Simon with Piddock as his butler, Truman. Elizabeth Hurley also stars as Queen Helena with William Moseley as Prince Liam, Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor, Haley Lo Richardson as Ophelia and Tom Austen as Jasper. (Deadline.com)

THESE THINGS HAPPEN (HBO, New!) - Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions is developing a comedy at the pay channel based on Richard Kramer's novel "set in present day Manhattan and focuses on two couples - one gay, one straight. They share a 15-year-old son, who lives on the upper East Side with his mother and doctor stepfather. Trying to get to know his impressive, distant father better, he moves in for a semester with him and his long-time partner who forms an instant friendship with the boy." Kramer will pen the script himself and executive produce alongside Winfrey. (Deadline.com)

WORK MOM (ABC Family; W: Grant Levy & Dominik Rothbard; D: TBA) - Emily Rutherfurd ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") is the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, about Heather, who finally gets promoted at her digital marketing firm and winds up hiring her recently unemployed mother. Her vivacious mother, Eden, mixes up the office in a way no one could have predicted. She'll play the aforementioned Eden in the project. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - A.J. Buckley is set to recur on "Justified" as crime lord Dale Crowe's (Michael Rapaport) younger brother Danny, "the romantic sociopath of the Crowe family who is a damn good man with a knife" (Deadline.com); Sherry Stringfield will visit "CSI" as "a likable, blue-collar swing shift CSI who joins Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) in investigating a serial rapist case" (TVLine.com); Bailey Buntain is bound for "Baby Daddy" as "a fast-talking, vivacious spitfire who is dating Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau)" (TVGuide.com); and Julie White has scored an arc on "Nurse Jackie" as "a ballsy Southern realtor who becomes an AA sponsor to a downward-spiraling Jackie" (THR.com).
