DOWN DOG (Amazon; W: Robin Schiff; D: TBA) - Josh Casaubon ("Bad Teacher") has scored the lead role on the comedy pilot, about Logan, "a heart-stoppingly gorgeous surfer, devoid of ambition, a Peter Pan who has been sliding through on his charisma, laid-back easy charm and good looks but must now start to take life seriously when he's left in charge of his ex-girlfriend's yoga studio." (Deadline.com)


SLEIGHT OF MOUTH (Comedy Central, New!) - Justin Willman ("Cupcake Wars") has been tapped to host a potential variety series at the cable channel in which he tackles "a thought-provoking topic with sketches, social experiments, guest comedians, and interactive content." Robert Morton, Nerdist Industries' Chris Hardwick and Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Alex Murray will also serve as executive producers on the project. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED BILL COSBY PROJECT (NBC/Sony; W: Mike O'Malley & Mike Sikowitz; D: TBA) - The Bill Cosby-led comedy - about Jonathan Franklin, "a patriarch of a multi-generational family who shares his many years of wit, wisdom and experience to help his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren navigate their complicated modern lives" - has closed a deal for a script commitment from the network plus a penalty should it not move forward to pilot. O'Malley, who's penning the script under the supervision of Mike Sikowitz, would play one of the sons-in-low, subject to availability. Cosby and Tom Werner also serve as executive producers on the project, from Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "The Big Bang Theory" co-stars Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are on track to sign new three-year deals with Warner Bros.
