Building on its Lead-in and Growing from its Most Recent Original Telecast, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� Beats its CBS and NBC Competition Combined by Wide Margins

WEEK No. 28:

ABC took second place during the week of March, 27, 2006 among Adults 18-34 (2.8/9), Teens 12-17 (1.9/7) and Kids 2-11 (1.2/5-tie).

� Heading into the final 8 weeks of the 2005-06 TV Season, ABC has grown its primetime audience by 1.0 million viewers (11.3 million vs. 10.3 million) and by 8% in Adults 18-49 (4.1/11 vs. 3.8/10) over the same point a year ago. Additionally, ABC is the only network to improve its performance on either Nielsen measure this season. ABC�s increases are driven largely by its regular series programming, up by 12% in Total Viewers and by 10% in Adults 18-49 over its averages with regularly scheduled series programming at the same point last season.

Rankings: During the week of March 27, 2006, ABC claimed 3 of the week�s Top 10 TV shows in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic, including the Top 2 scripted series: �Grey�s Anatomy� No. 3 (No. 1 scripted) �Desperate Housewives� � No. 4 (No. 2 scripted) and �Lost� � No. 7. Both �Grey�s Anatomy� and �Desperate Housewives� also finished the week among the Top 5 most-watched television programs. ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� was the second-highest-rated program during the week with Women 18-34, topping Fox�s Wednesday edition of �American Idol.� For the 6th time in 7 weeks, ABC News claimed TV�s No. 1 newsmagazine among Adults 18-49 (�Primetime�).

Monday

ABC continued to deliver among young women, winning its 5th straight Monday among Women 18-34 (4.7/12). The Net ranked No. 1 on the night with Women 18-34 for the 9th time in the last 10 weeks. Disney-owned ABC also delivered the No. 1 network position on Monday among Women 18-49 (5.1/12) and Kids 2-11 (1.9/7).

� ABC posted its strongest Monday in 4 weeks in viewers and young adults and grew from the same night a year ago (3/28/05) by 9% among Total Viewers (9.3 million vs. 8.5 million) and by 6% among Adults 18-49 (3.8/9 vs. 3.6/9). In fact ABC has been up from the comparable Monday last year for 5 consecutive weeks in Total Viewers and for 10 consecutive weeks in Adults 18-49.

�Wife Swap� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

During the opening hour of primetime, ABC�s �Wife Swap� earned second place in its time period across the key women demographics (W18-34 � 4.4/12, W18-49 � 5.0/12 & W25-54 � 5.4/12) and among Kids 2-11 (1.9/6).

� �Wife Swap�s� audience jumped by 1.0 million viewers (8.5 million to 9.5 million) and by 21% Adults 18-49 (3.4/9 to 4.1/10) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

�Supernanny� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

ABC�s �Supernanny� won its hour among Women 18-34 (5.5/13) and Women 18-49 (5.9/13), qualifying as the No. 1 TV program on Monday with Women 18-34.

� In Total Viewers (10.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.2/10), �Supernanny� produced its second-strongest numbers of the season, behind only the prior week.

�Miracle Workers� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC�s �Miracle Workers� took second place during the 10 o�clock hour in Total Viewers (8.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.4/9).

� �Miracle Workers� gained 1.5 million viewers and 21% in Adults 18-49 from the prior week (3/20/06 = 7.3 million & 2.8/7).

Wednesday

ABC took second place on Wednesday night among Adults 18-49 (4.1/11), defeating third-place NBC by 14% (3.6/9) and fourth-place CBS by 28% (3.2/8).

�George Lopez�/�Freddie� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

ABC�s comedy combination of �George Lopez� and �Freddie� built Adult 18-49 audience for ABC during the 8 o�clock hour, defeating their CBS comedy competitors by wide margins. At 8:00 p.m., ABC�s �George Lopez� outpaced CBS� �Out of Practice� by 50% in Adults 18-49 (2.4/7 vs. 1.6/5). At 8:30 p.m., ABC�s �Freddie� beat out CBS� �Courting Alex� by 69% in Adults 18-49 (2.7/7 vs. 1.6/4).

�Lost� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

Airing against Fox�s �American Idol� results show during its first half-hour, ABC�s �Lost� built sharply on its lead-in, saw its audience surge throughout its telecast and beat Fox�s �Unanimous� by wide margins at 9:30 p.m. to win the half-hour. During the 9 o�clock hour, �Lost� (16.2 million & 6.7/16) dominated its drama competition, CBS� �Criminal Minds� (12.5 million & 3.5/8) and NBC�s �Law & Order� (9.3 million & 2.6/6).

� Jumping from its lead-in, �Lost� went on to gain 2.1 million viewers (15.1 million to 17.2 million) and 16% in Adults 18-49 (6.2/15 to 7.2/17) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour. No. 1 from 9:30-10:00 p.m., �Lost� beat second-place Fox�s �Unanimous� by 2.6 million viewers (17.2 million vs. 14.6 million) and by 13% in Adults 18-49 (7.2/17 vs. 6.4/15). With much weaker retention of its �American Idol� lead-in on its second telecast, Fox�s �Unanimous� fell by -1.4 million viewers and -10% in Adults 18-49 from its week-earlier series debut (16.0 million & 7.1/16 on 3/22/06).

� Growing from the prior week in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, �Lost� generated its highest Adult 18-34 rating (5.9/16) in 6 weeks � since 2/15/06.

� �Lost� qualified as the No. 1 scripted TV program on Wednesday among Viewers and Adults 18-49. The sophomore ABC drama has ranked as the highest-rated scripted program on Wednesday in all 17 of its original telecasts this season.

�The Evidence� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)

Taking second place during the 10 o�clock hour, ABC�s �The Evidence� beat NBC�s �Heist� for the second week in a row -- and by wider margins -- in Total Viewers (+5% - 7.7 million vs. 7.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (+20% - 3.0/8 vs. 2.5/7).

� ABC�s �The Evidence� was up from its week-earlier series debut among Adults 18-34 (2.5/8) and Men 18-34 (2.1/7).

Thursday

�American Inventor� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)

At 9:00 p.m., �American Inventor� built on its lead-in by 1.9 million viewers (9.3 million vs. 7.4 million) and by 61% among Adults 18-49 (3.7/9 vs. 2.3/6), finishing second in the hour among Total Viewers. �American Inventor� saw its audience grow by nearly 1 million viewers (8.8 million to 9.7 million) and by 21% in Adults 18-49 (3.4/9 to 4.1/10). In fact, the unscripted series finished second from 9:30-10p.m., beating NBC�s �The Office� in both viewers (9.7 million vs. 7.8 million) and young adults (4.1/10 vs. 4.0/10).

� On average in its first three telecasts, �American Inventor� has improved the 9 o�clock hour for ABC by 7.0 million viewers (12.4 million vs. 5.4 million) and by 157% in Adults 18-49 (4.9/12 vs. 1.9/5), as compared the Net�s performance on the same nights last year.

Sunday

ABC delivered a commanding victory on Sunday, leading its nearest competitors on the night by 6.0 million viewers (16.4 million vs. 10.4 million � CBS) and by 148% in Adults 18-49 (6.7/18 vs. 2.7/7 � Fox). The Network ranked No. 1 on Sunday night for the 6th straight week in Total Viewers and for the 10th consecutive week in the key Adult 18-49 sales demographic. ABC built Adult 18-49 audience throughout the night, winning each half-hour during primetime. Please note: Due to the change to daylight savings time this week, available young adult TV viewing levels declined by 5% on the night from the previous Sunday (Adult 18-49 p.u.t.). As expected, the sharpest week-to-week drop-offs came during the 7 o�clock (-13%) and 8 o�clock (-10%) hours.

� ABC claimed the Top 3 TV shows on Sunday in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, with �Grey�s Anatomy,� �Desperate Housewives� and �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.�

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

A 7 o�clock installment of ABC�s �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� jumped out in front of its time period among Adults 18-49, besting second-place CBS� �60 Minutes� by 22% (2.8/9 vs. 2.3/8).

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

In its regular 8 o�clock time slot, �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� expanded ABC�s winning advantage over its nearest competition to 43% among Adults 18-49 (5.0/14 vs. 3.5/10 - Fox). �Home Edition� was also the most-watched program in the hour, outdrawing second-place CBS� �Cold Case� by 1.2 million viewers (13.5 million vs. 12.3 million).

�Desperate Housewives� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Shooting up by 8.3 million viewers and 80% in Adults 18-49 over its lead-in, ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� towered over its time period competition. ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� outpaced the second-place networks during the 9 o�clock hour by 12.3 million viewers (21.8 million vs. 9.5 million - CBS) and by 221% in Adults 18-49 (9.0/21 vs. 2.8/6 - Fox).

� �Desperate Housewives� was up week to week in viewers and young adults, marking its highest Adult 18-49 rating in 6 weeks � since 2/19/06.

�Grey�s Anatomy� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Building on its lead-in, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� overshadowed its combined NBC and CBS competition during the 10 o�clock hour by 7.2 million viewers (22.4 million vs. 15.2 million) and 120% in Adults 18-49 (9.9/24 vs. 4.5/10). It was the 6th consecutive telecast in which an original �Grey�s� has built on an original �Housewives� in viewers and young adults.

� �Grey�s Anatomy� was up from its most recent original telecast by 6% in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (21.1 million and 9.3/23 on 3/19/06).
