Nbc, CBS Continue 'Apprentice,' 'C.S.I.' Jockeying
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- It appears the "C.S.I."/"The Apprentice" showdown on Wednesday has been called off as both networks announced changes to their respective schedules over the weekend.

CBS had originally slated a new episode of "C.S.I." for Wednesday, January 14 at 8:00/7:00c in order to squash the time slot premiere of NBC's "The Apprentice" (read the story), which got off to an 18.5 million viewer start last week thanks to a post-"Friends" launch.

Now both networks have changed their minds as CBS has rescheduled said new episode of "C.S.I." to air in its regular Thursday, 9:00/8:00c home this week. A repeat of the freshman drama "Cold Case" will instead fill the 8:00/7:00c hour on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, NBC has opted to air the second episode of its Donald Trump-led reality series once again on Thursday, sandwiched between episodes of "Friends" and "Will & Grace." In its place on Wednesday at 8:00/7:00c will be a re-edited one-hour version of the show's premiere. "The Apprentice" will then settle into its regular Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c home on January 21.

And in other CBS news, the Eye revealed the 18-person roster for its upcoming "all star" edition of "Survivor" this morning:
