I'M IN THE BAND (Disney XD) - The cable channel has passed on a third season of the series. The back half of the show's sophomore season will roll out later this year. The news marks the second series to get the hook by the two-year-old channel, the other being "Aaron Stone" back in November. Still to be announced: the future of "Zeke and Luther," which recently wrapped production on its third season.
NCIS (CBS) - Co-creator Don Bellisario has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against producer CBS Television Studios over unpaid financial considerations from spin-off "NCIS: Los Angeles." The complaint claims that Bellisario's "NCIS" contract includes "first opportunity" rights to be involved in "spin-offs, sequels or remakes," a clause that was never executed. Furthermore, even without his involvement, said extensions entitled him to sizable passive payments. Bellisario departed the franchise in 2007 over conflicts with star Mark Harmon.
NO SECRETS (HBO) - Oscar-winner Charles Ferguson ("Inside Job") has been tapped to direct the pay channel's Julian Assange docudrama. Joshua Maurer and Alixandre Witlin of City Entertainment and David Stern of KippSter Entertainment are behind the BBC co-production, which "takes an in-depth look at Assange and follows him and his WikiLeaks operatives" as they prepare to leak the infamous "38-minute classified video filmed from inside of the cockpit of an U.S. Army Apache Helicopter." Ferguson will also produce the film alongside Audrey Marrs, while a writer is expected to be locked up shortly. "No Secrets" is based on Raffi Khatchadourian's article of the same name from The New Yorker.
SPARTACUS: BLOOD & SAND (Starz) - Cynthia Addai-Robinson ("Flash Forward") has joined the cast of the show's upcoming second season. She'll take over for Lesley-Ann Brandt as Naevia, Lucretia's "body slave" who fell in love with gladiator Crixus (Manu Bennett). Addai-Robinson isn't the only new face set for season two: Liam McIntyre as previously announced will take over for Andy Whitfield in the title role.
TWILIGHT EYES (Starz, New!) - Dean Koontz's 1987 novel - about the psychically powered Slim MacKenzie, who uses his abilities to hunt monsters that have the ability to mimic human beings - is being eyed as a potential limited series at the pay channel. Stephen Tolkin ("Brothers & Sisters") is penning the adaptation, which will be set in the present day. Koontz and Tolkin then will executive produce alongside Rob Lee of Bayonne Entertainment.
