Marc Juris Promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of truTV

Marc Juris has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of truTV. In this role, he will continue to be responsible for overseeing the network's strategic planning, original programming, marketing and advertising. Juris is based in New York and reports to Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks.

"Marc is a talented and innovative executive whose understanding of branding, marketing and programming have been vital in building the truTV brand," said Koonin. "Under Marc's terrific leadership, I am confident truTV will continue to reach new heights."

Juris' promotion comes as truTV is experiencing unprecedented momentum. Propelled by original hits like Hardcore Pawn, Operation Repo, All Worked Up, Lizard Lick Towing, South Beach Tow and Full Throttle Saloon, as well as the acquired hit Wipeout, truTV will finish 2011 with its best-ever primetime deliveries of key adult and male demos.

"I'm extremely proud of the work of our great team at truTV," Juris said. "We've worked hard to build a popular lineup of original programming and a brand that grows stronger every day."

Juris joined the network in 2004, when it was known as Court TV. After being promoted to executive vice president and general manager in 2007, he led the network's January 2008 transition to truTV. Since then, truTV has experienced tremendous audience growth, while its primetime median age has dropped sharply, making 2011 truTV's youngest year ever. Under Juris' leadership, truTV also staged its first, stand-alone Upfront event in 2010.

Prior to joining the former Court TV, Juris held several positions at Rainbow Media Holdings, LLC. As president of FUSE Networks, he led the rapid growth and rebranding of the network from the former MuchMusic. Before joining FUSE, Juris was senior vice president of original programming and later general manager of AMC, where led the network's transition from ad-free to ad-supported. Also at Rainbow Holdings, Juris served as senior vice president of regional programming for Metro Channels, where he developed, positioned, launched and managed three regional, live television networks branded MetroTV. He also held positions at King World, CBS Television Network and CBS Cable.

Juris is a graduate of Syracuse University. He is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
