LA CRIME, THE (ABC, New!) - Steven Baigelman (Get on Up) has sold a new drama to the Alphabet which "explores sex, politics and popular culture across various noteworthy eras in L.A. history" with the inaugural season following "two LA cops track a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial killer team amidst the rock-and-roll, coke-infused revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip." Said effort is set up at ABC Studios with David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks also executive producing via their Mandeville Films and Television banner. (Deadline.com)


LUCIFER (FOX, New!) - Tom Kapinos ("Californication") is spearheading a small screen take on the DC Comics character, who, "bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he opens an exclusive piano bar called Lux." Lucifer originated as a supporting character in comic book series "The Sandman" before toplining his own spin-off series. Kapinos will write and executive produce the hour, which has a put pilot commitment, via his Aggressive Mediocrity banner for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)


POINT OF HONOR (Amazon/ABC Signature; W: Carlton Cuse; D: Randall Wallace) - Nathan Parsons and Luke Benward are the latest to be cast in the drama pilot, about a fictional family from Lynchburg, VA who find their lives and family fractured by the commencement of the Civil War. Parsons will play John Rodes in the project with Benward as Garland Rhodes, "the dashing black sheep brother of the Rhodes family." Chris O'Shea, James Harvey Ward, Riley Voelkel and Patrick Heusinger also star. (Deadline.com)


PROBLEM CHILD (NBC, New!) - Scot Armstrong ("Animal Practice") is back in business with the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy based on the film franchise of the same name about "a couple conned into adopting a troubled 7-year-boy who wreaks havoc in their lives and leaves a path of destruction anywhere he goes." Universal Television is behind the project with Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan likewise executive producing via their TBD Productions banner. (Deadline.com)


WIFE OF CRIME (CBS, New!) - "The Big Bang Theory" mainstay Kevin Sussman is developing a multi-camera comedy at the Eye about "a straight-laced guy from Staten Island who marries into an Italian family with ties to the mob and finds himself drawn to the warmth of his new crime family." CBS Television Studios-based Original Film is behind the project with the company's Neal Moritz and Vivian Cannon executive producing and Sussman serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
