ADVOCATE, THE (ABC/WBT; W: Sheldon Turner; D: Michael M. Robin) - Elliot Knight ("How to Get Away with Murder") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Francis "Frankie" Reese (Kim Raver), a tough, resourceful and at the top of her game type-A business woman, who, after a medical scare in which she was dangerously misdiagnosed, leaves her career behind to become a relentless advocate for anyone caught in the chaotic and ever-changing maze that is modern medicine. He'll play Brett, "the receptionist at the advocacy office, who can sometimes be a bit clueless when it comes to dealing with potential clients." (Deadline.com)


BROAD SQUAD, THE (ABC/ABCS; W: Bess Wohl; D: Coky Giedroyc) - Cody Horn (Magic Mike) has snagged a lead role on the drama pilot, a fictionalized account of the graduating class of Boston's first female patrol officers in 1978. She'll play one of the quartet, Lisa Osgood. Charlotte Spencer also stars. (Deadline.com)


CHEERLEADER DEATH SQUAD (The CW/CBSP; W: Daniel Truly, Marc Cherry & Neal Baer; D: Mark Waters) - Aylin Bayramoglu ("The Glee Project") has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot, about a disgraced CIA agent-turned-teacher at an elite D.C. prep school who trains a select few students to be his eyes and ears into the world of international espionage and help him earn his way back into the agency. She'll play Fatima, "the lonely girl at school that no one seems to notice." Gia Mantegna also stars. (Deadline.com)


CODE BLACK (CBS/ABCS/CBSP; W: Michael Seitzman; D: David Semel) - Luis Guzman is the latest to be cast in the drama pilot, set in the busiest and most notorious ER in the nation - LA County Hospital - where the extraordinary staff confronts a broken system in order to protect their ideals and the patients who need them the most. He'll play Jose Santiago, "the affable but tough and strong, no-s**t, seen-it-all, senior nurse at the ER who is responsible for the four new residents." Maggie Grace, Marcia Gay Harden and Melanie Kannokada also star. (Deadline.com)


CORDON (The CW/WBT; W: Julie Plec; D: David Nutter) - Claudia Black ("Farscape") has been cast in the drama pilot, about when a deadly epidemic breaks out in Atlanta, a large city quarantine is quickly enforced, leaving those stuck on the inside to fight for their lives. She'll play Dr. Sabine Lommers, "representing the department of health and human services, she is the face of the government's response. Determined to keep the public from panicking, she battles not only the deadly disease but the public's perception as well." Chris Wood, Christina Moses, David Gyasi and Kristen Gutoskie also star. DETOUR (FOX/20th; W: Steve Franks; D: Jeremy Garelick) - British actor Ben Aldridge has been tapped for the lead role on the comedy pilot, which is inspired by the real life story of Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo, a rock star who made the unexpected choice at the age of 30 to quit his band and go back to college. He'll said fellow, Michael Sturges, in the project, which also features Joey Morgan as Walter, "Michael's sweet-natured, brilliant but socially anxious/awkward college roommate." (Deadline.com)


DEVIL YOU KNOW, THE (A.K.A. NEW WORLD) (HBO/Lionsgate; W: Bruce Miller, Jenji Kohan & Tracy Miller; D: Gus Van Sant) - Eddie Izzard, Nadia Alexander and Ismenia Mendes have all been cast in the drama pilot, which explores the circumstances surrounding one of the most compelling chapters in American history: the Salem Witch Trials. He'll play Thomas Putnam, "the conservative, rigid and devoutly Puritan patriarch of the powerful Putnam family. He is a leader in agrarian Salem Village, but his top position is being threatened from many sides." Alexander then is set as "the bright and ambitious Ann Putnam Jr., who is unsure of her role as a woman in this world but determined to discover her place in it"; with Mendes as Mercy Lewis, "a captured servant girl from Maine who must summon her inner resources." DOUBT (CBS/CBSP; W: Joan Rater & Tony Phelan; D: Adam Bernstein) - Dreama Walker ("Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Sadie Barrow (KaDee Strickland), a smart, successful 30-something defense attorney who shockingly falls for one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. She's set as Tiffany Allan, "a smart, hardworking second-year associate from Iowa who reports to Cameron (Laverne Cox)." Dule Hill, Elliott Gould and Kobi Libii also star. (Deadline.com)


GRINDER, THE (FOX/20th; W: Andrew Mogel & Jarrad Paul; D: Jake Kasdan) - Fred Savage is set to star opposite Rob Lowe in the comedy pilot, about beloved TV lawyer Dean Sanderson who, when his long-running hit series comes to an end, finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small hometown thinking he has the experience to take over his family's law firm where he butts heads with his brother. He'll play said brother, Stewart Sanderson, "a hard-working attorney and family man who feels very much in the shadow of his younger brother, Dean." (Deadline.com)


LA CRIME (ABC/ABCS; W: Steven Baigelman; D: Tom Shankland) - Karolina Wydra ("True Blood") is the latest addition to the anthology series pilot, about two LA cops as they track a Bonnie & Clyde-esque serial killer team amidst the rock-and-roll, coke-infused revelry of the 1980s Sunset Strip. She'll play Dianne Gibbons, "a beautiful, resilient detective working undercover as a barmaid on the Sunset Strip." Erika Christensen, Taissa Farmiga and Darrell Britt-Gibson also star. (THR.com)


LIFE IN PIECES (CBS/20th; W: Justin Adler; D: Jason Winer) - Dan Bakkedahl ("The Goldbergs") has snagged a role in the single-camera comedy pilot, about one family as told through the separate stories of its different family members. He'll play Tim, "who does his best to navigate the politics of his wife's (Betsy Brandt) family, mostly by sticking his foot in his mouth." Angelique Cabral, Colin Hanks, Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Thomas Sadoski and Zoe Lister-Jones also star. (Deadline.com)


LUCIFER (FOX/WBT; W: Tom Kapinos; D: Len Wiseman) - Lina Esco ("Cane") has boarded the drama pilot, based on the comic book about Lucifer (Tom Ellis) who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. She's set as his best friend Maze, "a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman." (Deadline.com)


PROBLEM CHILD (NBC/Universal; W: Scot Armstrong; D: TBA) - Jack Gore ("The Michael J. Fox Show") has been tapped for the title role on the single-camera comedy pilot, inspired by the film about the cat-and-mouse game between a set of parents and their brilliant but mischievous child. He'll play Bishop Martin, "the son of Casey (Erinn Hayes) and Ed, who is known for causing trouble. He thinks the system is set up to work against him and that you have to fight back. He views adults as opponents, not enemies, and does not believe in the word no." (THR.com)


QUANTICO (ABC/ABCS; W: Josh Safran; D: Marc Munden) - Jake McLaughlin ("Believe") and director Marc Munden have both joined the drama pilot, about a group of diverse FBI recruits going through 21 weeks of training to become special agents at the FBI's academy in Quantico, Virginia - one of which is a sleeper terrorist, who in the near future, has perpetrated the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11. He'll play Ryan Booth, "an athletic, charming, smart, direct guy who hooks up briefly with Alex (Priyanka Chopra) when the two meet on a flight to Washington, D.C., and who winds up not being the veteran returning home he claims to be." Aunjanue Ellis, Dougray Scott, Graham Rogers and Tate Ellington also star while Johanna Braddy and Yasmine Al also have been tapped for roles. (THR.com)


RUSH HOUR (CBS/WBT; W: Bill Lawrence & Blake McCormick; D: Jon Turteltaub) - Jon Foo (Tekken) has scored one of the leads in the drama pilot, a small screen take on the film franchise about a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he's forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer. He'll play Detective Lee, "a dedicated professional and master martial artist, a man of few words who knows how to get the job done." Jackie Chan originated the role in the films. (Deadline.com)


STUDIO CITY (FOX/WBT; W: Krista Vernoff; D: Sanaa Hamri) - Heather Graham ("Californication") has been cast in the drama pilot, about a young singer's path to stardom, as she comes of age living with her songwriter father (Eric McCormack) - who turns out to be a drug dealer to the stars. She'll play his third wife Stevie, "a former stand-up comedian who is generous and kind, with the mind of a teenager, filled with passionate ideas - just not very good ones." (Deadline.com)


UNCLE BUCK (ABC/ABCS; W: Brian Bradley & Steven Cragg; D: TBA) - Mike Epps and Nia Long are the first to land roles in the comedy pilot, based on John Hughes's 1989 film about a childish man who learns how to be an adult by taking care of his brother's kids in a very childish way. Epps will play the title role of Buck Russell with Long as Alexis, "his brother Will's strong-willed and smart wife." (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED DANA KLEIN PROJECT (FOX/20th; W: Dana Klein; D: Pamela Fryman) - Peter Riegert ("Dads") has been cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about Ellen (Jenna Elfman), a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law, Amy (Liza Lapira). He'll play Ira, "the two brothers' (Matt Letscher, Brian Austin Green) impatient, inappropriate and closed-minded Republican father." Nancy Lenehan and Izzy Watts also star. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED SUZANNE MARTIN PROJECT (NBC/Universal; W: Suzanne Martin; D: James Burrows) - Carrie Preston ("The Good Wife") has joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy pilot, which chronicles how things backfire for recent empty-nesters when their children and their parents move back home. She'll play said mom, Martina Gunn, in the project, which also stars Patrick Warburton, Miranda Cosgrove and Stacy Keach. (Deadline.com)


UNVEILED (NBC/Universal; W: John Sakmar & Kerry Lenhart; D: TBA) - Dana Davis ("Franklin & Bash") has boarded the pilot, a drama following an ensemble of flawed guardian angels who intervene in the lives of those who find themselves facing crisis in an attempt to restore their faith and, often, save their lives. She'll play Garnet, "a cool, ambitious go-getter who's champing at the bit to get in the game and break through the veil to work with tortured souls." WARRIOR (NBC/Universal; W: David DiGilio; D: Phillip Noyce) - Holt McCallany ("Golden Boy") has been tapped for a lead role on the drama pilot, about Kai Forrester (Natalie Martinez), a damaged heroine who works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord. He'll play Andriv Vorobin, "a former prize fighter and an expert in MMA, still formidable in the ring, who runs a gym in New York while also heading the local YOMI."
