BLACK BOOK (CBS, New!) - Glenn Gordon Caron ("Medium") is returning to the Eye for a new drama about "a Chicago detective with amnesia from a near-fatal gunshot who learns he is a murder suspect, but realizes things may not be what they seem when he finds a mysterious black book that contains the secrets of the city." The CBS Television Studios-based project is based on an upcoming novel by James Patterson. Also executive producing are James Patterson Entertainment's Patterson, Bill Robinson and Leopoldo Gout as well as Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. (Deadline.com)
EXHIBIT A (CBS, New!) - Alexi Hawley ("Castle") is looking to import the South Korean series "My Lawyer, Mr. Jo" at the Eye. Said effort revolves around "a disgraced Korean-American prosecutor who finds redemption as a defense lawyer when he pairs with a young idealistic attorney and the two fight for the underdogs of Los Angeles." 3AD's Daniel Dae Kim and Propagate Content's Ben Silverman will also executive produce for CBS Television Studios with Lindsay Goffman as a co-executive producer. HEATHERS (TV Land) - James Scully and Grace Victoria Cox are the first the be cast in the cable channel's small screen take on the 1988 film. They'll play leads J.D. and Veronica, the roles originated by Christian Slater and Wynona Ryder in the feature. (Deadline.com)
MATING (Showtime) - Amy Seimetz ("The Girlfriend Experience") has signed onto the Taran Killam-led comedy pilot as Lexi, "whose trust Jay is trying to earn back." Jim Belushi also stars. (Deadline.com)
MOM (CBS) - Bradley Whitford will reunite with his "The West Wing" co-star Allison Janney in an upcoming episode as "a best friend to Adam (William Fichtner), who is the boyfriend of Bonnie (Janney). A former stuntman who is now a Hollywood director, Whitford's character is also quite the imbiber - which impresses Bonnie and Christy (Anna Faris)." Said installment will also feature Nicole Sullivan as Adam's friend Leanne. (EW.com)
MONSTERS OF GOD (TNT) - Caitlin Gerard ("American Crime") has been cast in the drama pilot as Ayasha: "Seemingly a beautiful, feisty, and strong Comanche woman, Ayasha is captured by Lancaster (Garret Dillahunt) and revealed to be Caucasian. She refuses to speak to Lancaster or go along with his attempts to assimilate her; Ayasha is loyal to her tribe and is ready to fight for her freedom." (Deadline.com)
MURDER IN THE FIRST (TNT) - The cable channel has passed on a fourth season of the series, which wrapped its run last month. (Deadline.com)
NOTORIOUS (ABC) - Melina Kanakaredes ("CSI: NY") is bound for the newcomer as Dana Hartman, "a natural beauty with a keen intelligence, sharp wit and a quick temper. She's a woman who has risen to the pinnacle of success in broadcasting and plummeted to the depths of scandal-ridden despair.
