BATTLE OF THE NETWORK STARS (ABC, New!) - IMG Media is spearheading a new revival of the one-time staple, in which "stars from across multiple television genres competing to raise money for charity." Bravo was behind the most recent attempt, "Battle of the Network Reality Stars," a six-episode series in 2005; while NBC featured a two-hour special in 2003. Glassman Media will produce the project, which is slated to shoot in May. (Variety.com)
BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain have been cast as the title character's (Cress Williams) children in the drama pilot: Anissa Pierce, "passionate and quick-witted, Jefferson's twenty-something daughter balances the demands of medical school with her job teaching part-time at her father's school"; and "Jefferson's younger daughter, the teenage Jennifer Pierce, an independent, outspoken scholar-athlete with a wild streak of her own." (Deadline.com)
DOOMSDAY (ABC) - Claire Holt is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Kayla Greene, "the newest member of the Doomsday project. Considered the best cyber security analyst in the country, she's efficient, irreverent, and not particularly interested in making friends." (Deadline.com)
DYNASTY (The CW) - Grant Show has been tapped to play oil tycoon Blake Carrington in the network's reboot of the 1980s staple. John Forsythe played the role in the original series. (Deadline.com)
HANNAH ROYCE'S QUESTIONABLE CHOICES (CBS) - Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness) has landed the title role on the comedy pilot, about a woman who has made some interesting choices throughout her life - namely, having three different kids with three different men - but all have led her to having a very unique, loving, blended family. Additionally, Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) has been confirmed as the director. (Deadline.com)
HIGHER GROUND (CBS) - Grace Rex has scored a role on the drama pilot as Detective Sarah Jane Lipschitz, "the smartest person in the room and a longstanding member of Naomi's (TBD) team." (Deadline.com)
LAS REINAS (ABC) - Daniella Alonso has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about Detective Alex De La Reina, who is forced to confront her past when a case compels her to reconnect with her estranged family: the most powerful criminal outfit in Miami. (Deadline.com)
LIVING BIBLICALLY (CBS) - Ian Gomez is the first to board the comedy pilot as Feather Gene: "A dryly funny priest at Chip's (TBD) church, Father Gene is impressed by Chip's determination, and they form an unlikely friendship when he helps him translate the rules of the Bible to a modern world." (Deadline.com)
ONE PERCENT, THE (Starz) - The pay channel has pulled out of Alejandro González Iñárritu's long-in-the-works series following several production start delays. Media Rights Capital nevertheless remains committed to the 10-episode project, which will star Greg Kinnear and Hilary Swank and revolves around a downtrodden farmer as he struggles to hold onto his family and his farm, when a bizarre twist of fate becomes a life-changing secret that will either save them or ruin them. Kinnear replaces Ed Helms who was originally set to play the role. (Deadline.com)
RAY DONOVAN (Showtime) - Rhys Coiro and Billy Miller are both bound for the upcoming season. The latter is slated to appear in at least four episodes as Todd Doherty, "a cop who is at odds with his sister Maureen's fiancé, Terry Donovan (played by Eddie Marsan)." Coiro then will be in at least two episodes as Rob Heard, "a shady Hollywood manager who is married to a major star." (THR.com, TVLine.com)
ROMANOFFS, THE (A.K.A. UNTITLED MATTHEW WEINER PROJECT) (Amazon) - Matthew Weiner has further detailed his upcoming eight-episode anthology series in which "the only common thread is that each episode will tell the stories of people in contemporary times who believe they are descendants of the imperial family that ruled Russia from 1613 until the Bolsheviks seized power in 1917. Czar Nicholas II, empress Alexandra and their five children were sent into exile and brutally murdered by a Bolshevik execution squad in July 1918. The Romanoffs' legend has been burnished for a century by the lore that daughter Anastasia survived the slayings and wound up taking on a new identity." (Variety.com)
SENSE8 (Netflix) - The streaming service is reportedly looking to re-assemble the principal cast for a potential third season of the long-gesting series. Said options expired several months ago. It's understood a decision is expected in June, following its season two launch on May 5. (Deadline.com)
SHELDON (CBS) - Iain Armitage and Zoe Perry are on track to topline "The Big Bang Theory" prequel series, which would follow Sheldon Cooper's (Jim Parsons as an adult) experiences as a child prodigy at age 10. "He lives in Texas with his older brother George, fraternal twin sister (Missy), their mother Mary Cooper (Perry), an overtly devout Evangelical Christian; and father George Cooper, an alcoholic who was never around." The project remains unconfirmed while negotiations continue on a renewal deal for "Big Bang." (Deadline.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Rahul Kohli ("iZombie") will drop by his network sibling as Jack Spheer, "a charming innovator whose tech could change the course of medicine (and who in DC Comics lore becomes the baddie named Biomax)." (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED MARVEL ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES (FOX) - Amy Acker, Emma Dumont and Percy Hynes White have all been cast in the drama pilot. Acker will star as Kate Stewart, "a woman who is struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed (Stephen Moyer), and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn, she finds that she's stronger than she thinks." Dumont then will play Lorna Dane/Polaris, "a strong-willed, brave and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism"; with White as Andy, "a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home." (THR.com)
WHAT ABOUT BARB? (NBC) - Jessica Gunning and Leah Remini have scored the lead roles in the feature-turned-comedy pilot, about Suzanne (Remini), a psychotherapist who tries to cut ties with her most overbearing patient, Barb (Gunning), but is unsuccessful and gains an annoying family member in the process.
