Cartoon Network Wraps Up San Diego Comic-Con 2018!

Cartoon Network delivered another year of knockout fan-first experiences at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 with a packed lineup of events, including panels from recently Emmy-nominated Steven Universe and Adventure Time. In case you missed it, here's everything you need to know:

Steven Universe

Series creator Rebecca Sugar and Estelle (voice of Garnet) kicked off Cartoon Network's slate by participating in a Superheroes of Body Positivity panel in partnership with the Dove Self-Esteem Project. Attendees watched an inspiring discussion between Sugar, Estelle, Sophie Galvani, Jess Weiner and moderator Erica Joy Baker on the importance of body positivity and representation in both the real and animated world.

On Saturday, the Steven Universe cast and crew hosted a panel showcasing highlights from the series and special cast moments from the past year, as well as a surprise screening of an upcoming episode of Steven Universe. To cap off the panel, fans went wild when moderator Shelby Rabara (voice of Peridot) introduced a teaser announcing Steven Universe: The Movie is coming soon to Cartoon Network.

Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven also flew high atop Cartoon Network's Steven Universe-themed booth all weekend long.

Adventure Time

Fans flocked to say farewell to beloved series Adventure Time on Friday, and were treated to various musical performances by their favorite characters - including Finn and Jake (Jeremy Shada and John DiMaggio), Marceline (Olivia Olson), Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch), Ice King (Tom Kenny) and BMO (Niki Yang). Executive Producer Adam Muto and surprise guest Rebecca Sugar, who cut her teeth on Adventure Time, also joined the panel. There was not a dry eye in the house as the cast and crew shared their favorite memories from the series. Attendees were also shown a sneak peek and trailer for the series finale, which will air Monday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network Studios: Drawing on Inspiration

On Saturday, Cartoon Network assembled its newest creators Matt Burnett and Ben Levin (Craig of the Creek), Daniel Chong (recently Emmy-nominated We Bare Bears), Julia Pott (Summer Camp Island) and Diego Molano (Victor and Valentino) and moderator Ian Jones-Quartey (creator, OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes) for a conversation about their journeys in animation. Fans were among the first watch exclusive new clips from upcoming episodes of the Emmy-nominated We Bare Bears and Craig of the Creek, returning with new episodes next month, as well as Victor and Valentino, which premieres in 2019. Jones-Quartey also announced an epic OK K.O.! crossover episode, "Crossover Nexus," which will feature CN characters Garnet (Steven Universe), Ben Tennyson (Ben 10) and Raven (Teen Titans Go!) as they make a guest appearance at Lakewood Plaza Turbo. The episode will premiere on Cartoon Network this fall.

Cartoon Network Best Summer Ever Costume Ball

Fans came dressed to the nines as their favorite Cartoon Network character at this year's Best Summer Ever Costume Ball! Neighborhood Crystal Gems Michaela Dietz (voice of Amethyst, Steven Universe) and Deedee Magno Hall (voice of Pearl, Steven Universe) as well as Cartoon Network newcomer Philip Solomon (voice of Craig, Craig of the Creek) served as judges.

See you next year!
