AMERICAN CRIME STORY (FX) - Michael Uppendahl has joined the franchise's "Impeachment" installment as a director and executive producer. Production was originally slated to begin in early spring but was delayed until the fall by the coronavirus pandemic. (Deadline.com)
ANIMAL KINGDOM/SHAMELESS (TNT/Showtime) - The John Wells-produced series will resume filming on September 7 and September 8, respectively. (Deadline.com)
BLAIR/WIPED OUT (HBO Max/Peacock, New!) - Chelsea Handler has sold a pair of half-hour comedies to the streaming services. The former is based on Mo Welch's self-titled comic strip, which "follows a twenty-something with a dark but frank outlook on life; she's an older Daria, but a less anxious Cathy who can't help but judge people around her despite the fact that she's at her own personal rock-bottom." The latter "revolves around a narcissistic woman with the "perfect" life, who is suddenly erased from the entire world's collective memory by a passing black hole that causes a rift in the fabric of reality." Welch herself is penning "Blair" while Charles Morris is behind "Wiped Out" with Claudia Lonow set as showrunner. Handler will executive produce both projects for Universal Television alongside Molly Burke and co-executive producer Rachel Polan. (Deadline.com)
BRUH/RUTHLESS (BET+) - Filming has been completed on the latter series' second season following a cast member testing positive for the coronavirus. The actor was "self-isolated off the premises and was retested, producing three consecutive negative results." Ultimately, they were "allowed back for the last two days of production after their third negative test, and was able to complete their scenes." The Tyler Perry Studios crew will now roll into filming "Bruh." (Deadline.com)
CHUCKY (USA/Syfy) - Production on the franchise's TV incarnation has "been moved to 2021 as a result of the pandemic production shutdown." (Deadline.com)
CITADEL (Amazon) - Roland Møller is bound for the upcoming Richard Madden/Priyanka Chopra Jonas-led drama as Laszlo Milla: "A lead operative of Citadel's rival intelligence agency, Manticore, Laszlo was incarcerated in a Citadel detention facility for years. Time he spent stewing over the man responsible for his capture, Mason Kane. Now liberated, Laszlo sets his sights on getting revenge on Mason and bringing down Citadel once and for all." (Deadline.com)
CORTÉS Y MOCTEZUMA (Amazon) - The streaming service has scrapped plans to resume production on the Javier Bardem/Tenoch Huerta-led limited series. The four-episode project was "two weeks into filming in Mexico when it was shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic." "Due to the production constraints created by the COVID-19 global pandemic, Amazon Studios and Amblin Partners are unable to move forward with production on our Cortés y Moctezuma series," Amazon Studios and Amblin Partners said in a statement. "In the current climate, there is unfortunately no way to remount the production in the near future to achieve the scale and scope that was intended and that the series deserves. We have nothing but admiration and respect for Javier, Tenoch, Yoshira, Gael, Diego, Steve Zaillian, and the entire cast and crew of the series and hope we can work together again in the future." (Deadline.com)
FARM, THE (FOX, New!) - Paul Sciarrotta has landed a potential series at the network billed as "a multi-generational family drama set against the backdrop of competing farms in rural America - Big AG vs. Family Farm." FOX Entertainment and 20th Television are both behind the project with DiVide Pictures' Milo Ventimiglia and Russ Cundiff also executive producing and Deanna Harris producing. (Deadline.com)
GOLDEN CHILD, THE (ABC, New!) - Kourtney Kang has set up a small screen take on Wendy James's novel at the Alphabet billed as "a deep dive into the suburban nightmare that examines what it's really like to be a mother today." Touchstone Television and Temple Hill Entertainment are behind the hour-long project with the latter's Marty Bowen and Adam Fishbach executive producing alongside Kang. (Deadline.com)
JEOPARDY (Syndication) - Much-ballyhooed alumnus Ken Jennings will join the game show as a consulting producer when season 37 launches on September 14. (Deadline.com)
LOCKE & KEY (Netflix) - Filming on the show's second season is set to resume on September 21 at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto. (Deadline.com)
LUCIFER (Netflix) - Filming on the series is set to resume on the 16th and final episode of season five on Thursday, September 24. Production will then roll into its sixth and final season. (TVLine.com)
MILLENNIALS (UMC, New!) - Rugg Williams and his son Oren Williams are set to team for a multi-camera comedy at the streaming service about "the lives of four 20-something roommates - a business student, a YouTuber, a college dropout, and a personal trainer - as they navigate the chaos of being young, finding success, and finding themselves in the city of angels." Bent Outta Shape Productions' Bentley Kyle Evans and Intrepid Entertainment Group's Zachary Isaiah Williams will also executive produce, the former of which will serve as co-director for the series. Casting is underway for a production start next month. (Variety.com)
MINX (HBO Max) - Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Unpregnant) has signed on to direct Ellen Rapoport's comedy pilot at the streaming service, which is set in 1970s Los Angeles and centers around an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher to create the first erotic magazine for women. (Deadline.com)
MIXED-ISH (ABC) - Co-creator Peter Saji has signed a new multi-year overall deal with producer ABC Signature, home to the "Black-ish" spin-off. (Deadline.com)

SILK (New!) - Sony Pictures Television is in early talks with Amazon for its proposed "suite" of TV series based on the Marvel characters controlled by the studio. First up: "Silk," from writer Lauren Moon. In the comic book incarnation, created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Cindy Moon is a Korean American student who is bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his Spider-Man powers. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will presumably also executive produce the TV take via their studio-based Lord Miller banner. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED QUINTA BRUNSON PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Quinta Brunson is set to write, star in and executive produce a single-camera comedy for the Alphabet about "a group of teachers brought together at one of the worst public schools in the country, simply because they love teaching. But is their love of educating children enough to counteract the school district's bullsh*t attitude toward educating children?" Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Ehsugadee Productions also serve as executive producers on the project, which has a put pilot commitment, for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST (NBC) - Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant and Kapil Talwalkar will be promoted to regular for the show's second season. Leeds plays David, "Zoey's older brother and a public defender who is dealing with losing his father while becoming a father for the first time"; while Lee is Emily, "David's wife, [who] is also a lawyer"; Grant is Leif, "a wide-eyed and seemingly sweet-natured programmer who suddenly finds himself in a new position at Sprq Point"; and Talwalkar is Tobin, "another programmer at Sprq Point, who uses humor and insults to mask a deep inner complexity."
