NBC'S RATINGS WEEK OF JULY 2-8, TOPPING THE WEDNESDAY COMPETITION IN 18-49 AND TOTAL VIEWERS'MACY'S' HOLIDAY SPECIAL PACES

ENCORE TELECASTS OF 'AMERICA'S GOT TALENT' AND 'LAW & ORDER: SVU' GIVE NBC ITS FIFTH CONSECUTIVE TUESDAY VICTORY IN 18-49 AND TOTAL VIEWERS

19 MILLION WATCH SOME OR ALL OF 'LIVE EARTH' CONCERT SATURDAY ON THE NETWORKS OF NBC UNIVERSAL

BURBANK, Calif. � July 10, 2007 � NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers overall for the week of July 2-8, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC won Wednesday night, the Fourth of July, paced by the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular," which was the night's top-rated show and which for the third year in a row topped its year-ago 18-49 rating. NBC also won its fifth consecutive Tuesday night in both 18-49 and total viewers, as encore telecasts of "America's Got Talent" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" topped all network competition. And on Saturday, July 6, an estimated 19 million viewers watched some or all of "Live Earth: The Concert for a Climate in Crisis" on the combined networks of NBC Universal.

Primetime averages for the week of July 2-8 in adults 18-49 were Fox (1.8/6), CBS (1.6/5), NBC (1.5/5), ABC (1.4/5), Univision (1.3/4), CW (0.6/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (6.3 million), NBC (4.9 million), Fox (4.8 million), ABC (4.2 million), Univision (2.9 million), CW (1.8 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

In regular program averages through 42 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running within a tenth of a point of last year's average in adult 18-49 rating (3.0 vs. 3.1). While Fox is flat versus last year in regular-program averages (at a 4.0), ABC is down 6 percent (from a 3.5 at this point last year to a 3.3 this year) and CBS is down 8 percent (from a 3.6 to a 3.3).

NBC highlights for the week of July 2-8:

* On Tuesday, an encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" won its two-hour time period by all key ratings measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers. In the 9-10 p.m. hour, the "Talent" rebroadcast topped original competition from ABC's "Shaq's Big Challenge" by 41 percent in 18-49 and by 47 percent in total viewers.

* NBC won its fifth consecutive Tuesday night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, as a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: SVU" also won its time period by most key measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers.

* On Wednesday, The "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular" was the night's top-rated show in 18-49 and total viewers, winning its time period in every key ratings category. It delivered the holiday special's highest 18-49 rating since 2002, marking the third year in a row that the special has built on its year-ago rating in primetime's key demo.

* Paced by the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular," NBC won Wednesday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures.

* On Thursday, an encore telecast of "The Office" built on its lead-in by 46 percent in adults 18-49 to rank #2 in that key demo and #1 among men 18-34.

* On Saturday, concert coverage of "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis" aired in primetime on NBC and was also carried on Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, mun2, Universal HD and the Sundance Channel. According to Nielsen, 19 million viewers watched some or all of the concert coverage throughout the day on the networks of NBC Universal.

* On Sunday, an encore "Law & Order: SVU" won its time period in 18-49 and other key demographic measures, while delivering NBC's highest overall viewership in the slot in the seven weeks since the May sweep.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of July 2-8:

On Monday, July 2 from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Age of Love" (1.8 rating, 5 share in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) grew by 38 percent in 18-49 rating and by 32 percent in overall total viewers versus its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall for an encore telecast of "Age of Love." At 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall

On Tuesday, July 3 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (2.1/8 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall) won its two-hour time period by virtually all key ratings measures, including adults 18-49 and total viewers. In adults 18-49, "Talent" topped its closest competition by a 40 percent margin (2.1 vs. a 1.5 for ABC from 8-10 p.m.). From it's first to its second hour, "Talent" increased by 26 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.4 from a 1.9). In the 9-10 p.m. hour, "Talent" topped original competition from ABC's "Shaq's Big Challenge" by 41 percent in 18-49 (a 2.4 for "Talent" vs. a 1.7 for "Shaq") and by 47 percent in overall total viewers (7.1 million for "Talent" vs. 4.8 million for "Shaq").

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.0/7 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in most key ratings categories, including adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and total viewers

NBC won its fifth consecutive Tuesday night in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

On Wednesday, July 4 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 outright in adults 25-54.

Wednesday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular" (2.2/8 in adults 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall) delivered that holiday special's highest 18-49 rating since 2002, up 5 percent versus last year (2.2/9 vs. 2.1/8). This marks the third year in a row that the special has built on its year-ago rating in primetime's key demo.

The "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular" was the night's #1 telecast in 18-49 and total viewers, winning its time period in every key ratings category. From its first half-hour to its second, the special increased by 26 percent in 18-49 (to a 2.4/9 from a 1.9/8) and its overall viewership by 30 percent, or nearly 2.0 million persons (to 8.6 million from 6.6 million).

Among all programs this week, the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks� Spectacular" ranked #12 (tie) among adults 18-49 and #8 in total viewers.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Dateline NBC" (1.9/7 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

On Thursday, July 5 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. From 8:30-9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" delivered a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall.

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 among men 18-34. "The Office" built on its lead-in by 46 percent in 18-49 and by 37 percent in total viewers. From 9:30-10 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Scrubs" delivered a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall. From 10-11 p.m., an encore "ER" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall.

On Friday, July 5 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" averaged a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Las Vegas" delivered a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 33 percent.

On Saturday, July 6 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC's primetime coverage of "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. Concert coverage was also carried on Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, mun2, Universal HD and the Sundance Channel. According to Nielsen, 19.0 million viewers watched some of all of the concerts throughout the day on the network of NBC Universal, including 10.2 million who watched all or part of NBC's primetime coverage from 8-11 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, July 7 from 7-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 67 percent in 18-49 (to a 1.5/5 from a 0.9/2) and by 79 percent, or more than 3.0 million persons, in total viewers (to 6.9 million from 3.8 million).

Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore "Law & Order" delivered a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 6.0 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.9/5 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) won the time period in adults 18-49 and other key measures. "SVU" locked up NBC's second-highest 18-49 rating in this time period since the May sweep and NBC's highest viewer total in the hour over that same seven-week span.
