IN JUNE, "SPORTS KIDS MOMS & DADS," NARRATED BY TENNIS LEGEND TRACY AUSTIN, TAKES A DEEP LOOK AT PARENTS WHO MAKE TREMENDOUS SACRIFICES TO GAIN SPORTS STARDOM FOR THEIR CHILDREN

BRAVO'S NEW SERIES FOLLOWS FIVE FAMILIES ON JOURNEYS OF TRIUMPH, DEFEAT, SACRIFICE AND STRUGGLE

NEW YORK -- April 19, 2005 -- Bravo took viewers backstage for "Showbiz Moms & Dads," then dove into the dog show arena for "Showdog Moms & Dads" and now they are headed to the rinks, fields, courts, and sidelines of America's young, aspiring athletes in "Sports Kids Moms & Dads." This eight-part, one-hour series follows five families' daily struggles and conflicts as their child athletes strive to excel in the highly stressful, competitive, "win at all costs" world of sports. Tracy Austin, the youngest player ever inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame, will narrate the series and lend her own perspective as a former child sports star. "Sports Kids Moms & Dads" premieres on Wednesday, June 1 at 10:00 p.m.

Over the years, studies have shown that sports help young people in a number of ways, providing them with a way to exercise, make friends, develop physical skills and improve their self-esteem. However, there is a flip side to the world of children's sports. "Sports Kids Moms & Dads" examines the highs and lows of competition, the fine line between parental support and pressure and uncovers that mom and dad are often more distraught by defeat than their resilient offspring and are sometimes living vicariously through their children. The series shows dynamic, young athletes struggling to shoot, kick, flip and ride their way to the "big time" and despite injuries and financial setbacks, their ability to their ability to exhibit fierce determination and discipline is matched only by their undying passion and skill for their respective sports.

No amount of physical talent alone can lead a young athlete to success. Without the unconditional love and support of family, the road to the professional sports world is sure to be an even rougher one. "Sports Kids Moms & Dads" gives viewers a real-life look at the preparation, obedience and commitment that these families must have to help their young ones reach dreams of sports stardom. Some hope for scholarships, others hope to see their name in lights, but all five young people hope to make it to the top of their game, no matter what that game may be.

Every "Sports Kids Moms & Dads" family has a different story. Their sports include football, cheerleading, basketball, figure skating and equestrian. The families are from all over the nation, from California to Texas to Connecticut.

Craig and Trenton, a father and son team, live and breathe for football. Dad has known his son was "meant to play the game" since the age of two and he makes it a seven-day-a-week job to get him to the NFL.

TJ and Lindsay are a mother and daughter basketball duo. Mom gave up her own collegiate basketball ambitions to raise her daughter as a single mother and hopes her daughter will "make different choices," which means "no distractions" aka boys!

Mom, Karen, is going through a divorce. This newly-single mom and her daughter, Karli, struggle to afford the cost of owning and keeping Karli's beloved thoroughbred horse.

Kim and Bryce are mom and son who are going for the gold in figure skating. Mom has never been able to stand the pressure of competition and can't bring herself to watch her son compete.

Sharon and Sarah are a dynamic team dancing towards their goal for Sarah to become the next National Champion Cheerleader. Sarah has a never-ending cycle of dance, choreography classes as well as countless cheerleading competitions, but mom says daughter wouldn't want it any other way.
