THE CLEANER (A&E) - The cable channel has passed on ordering a third season of the original drama series, which wrapped its run earlier this month. The show's September 15 swan song drew about 1.1 million viewers, down 39% from its season two launch (1.8 million on June 23). Both numbers in turn were off significantly from its bow last year (2.6 million on 7/15/08). Benjamin Bratt starred in the hour as "extreme interventionist" William Banks. Jonathan Prince and Robert Munic were the co-creators. Earlier this year A&E pulled the plug on its other scripted drama "The Beast."

DEADLY HONEYMOON (LMN, New!) - Summer Glau ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"), Chris Carmack ("The O.C.") and Zoe McLellan ("Dirty Sexy Money") are set to star in a new original movie for the network inspired by the real-life mysterious disappearance of groom George Allen Smith. Glau and Carmack will play Lindsey and Trevor Forrest, young newlyweds who embark on their 10-day honeymoon cruise only to have Trevor go missing, presumed to have fallen overboard to his death, after "a night of wild partying, infidelity and strange encounters with a group of Eastern European passengers." McLellan then is set as an investigator who begins to question if his death really was an accident. Paul Shapiro is helming the project from a script by Ron McGee with Michael Jacobs, Fernando Szew, Ricardo Galindez and Roy Trice are executive producing. Production is set to begin next month for an unspecified premiere date next year.
