BAD JUDGE (NBC/Universal; W: Anne Heche & Chad Kultgen; D: TBA) - The Kate Walsh-led comedy - about "a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman (Walsh) who plays with the law, and whose life on the edge is constantly in balance as she also happens to be a judge in the criminal court system" - has been given a pilot order by the Peacock. Walsh will also serve as an executive producer on the single-camera project, as will Jill Messick and Gary Sanchez Productions' Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. (Deadline.com)


DESPERADOES (FX, New!) - Robert Knott is spearheading a six-hour mini-series at the cable channel which "chronicles the infamous Dalton Gang's dangerous crime spree in the 1890s, as seen through the eyes of the youngest brother Emmett Dalton." Said effort, based on the 1979 novel of the same name by Ron Hansen, comes from Fox Television Studios with Josh Maurer and Alixandre Witlin executive producing alongside Knott. (Deadline.com)


THE FLASH (The CW/Warner Bros.; W: Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns & Greg Berlanti; D: David Nutter) - The proposed "Arrow" spin-off featuring Grant Gustin as DC Comics hero Barry Allen - a Central City assistant police forensics investigator - will now film a full-fledged pilot in lieu of a backdoor installment of the parent series. Gustin's Allen will still be introduced in "The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts" episodes - airing December 4 and 11 - but a return date for "Arrow's" 20th episode - featuring Allen's transition into The Flash - will be shot separately from the series. David Nutter remains on board to helm said pilot from a script by Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti. (Deadline.com)


NAVY ST. (DirecTV/Endemol; W: Byron Balasco; D: TBA) - Frank Grillo ("The Gates") is the first to be cast in the upcoming series, "a gritty family drama set against the backdrop of Navy Street, a mixed martial arts (MMA) gym based in Venice, CA." He'll play the gym's owner, Alvey Henderson, "a former fighter who never made it big due to a drug addiction but is now sober." (Deadline.com)


OLIVE KITTERIDGE (HBO; W: Jane Anderson; D: Lisa Cholodenko) - Rosemarie DeWitt ("United States of Tara") is the latest addition to the pay channel's small screen take on Jane Anderson's novel, about "a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive (Frances McDormand)." She'll play Rachel Coulson, "a fragile shut-in who is one of Henry's (Richard Jenkins) customers at the pharmacy." Brady Corbet, Jesse Plemons, John Gallagher, Jr. and Zoe Kazan also star. UNREAL (Lifetime; W: Marti Noxon & Sarah Gertrude Shapiro; D: Roger Kumble) - Bonita Friedericy ("Chuck") has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot, about "a young staffer (Shiri Appleby) whose lone job is to manipulate the relationships with (and among) the contestants in order to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage producers demand." She's set as Dr. Wagerstein, "the network-mandated show psychologist." Ashley Scott, Breeda Wool, Bryan Batt, Francia Raisa, Freddie Stroma, Johanna Braddy, Josh Kelly, Megyn Price and Nathalie Kelley also star. (THR.com)


WUNDERLAND (FOX, New!) - Amanda Lund and Matt Gourley have sold a potential comedy to the network which "explores the minutiae behind the scenes of America's most beloved (fictional) theme park." The project, which is inspired by the couple's years working at multiple theme parks, is set up at 20th Century Fox Television with Diablo Cody and Electric Dynamite's Jack Black and Priyanka Mattoo also serving as executive producers.
