FANTASY LIFE (FOX/20th; W: Tim McAuliffe; D: Pamela Fryman) - Christopher McDonald ("Boardwalk Empire") will round out the cast of the comedy pilot, about Mitch (Kevin Connolly), a hard-working guy who lands his ultimate dream job hosting a fantasy football show where he's forced to navigate office politics while becoming the star he never thought he could be. He'll play Chuck Byrne, "a legendary ex-football player/coach who's on Mitch's new team working on Fox's fantasy football league show," succeeding the previously cast James Caan. Chaz Lamar Shepherd, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Kimberley Crossman, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Vanessa Williams also star. (Deadline.com)


HEART MATTERS (NBC/Universal; W: Jill Gordon; D: Robert Duncan McNeill) - Louis Mills is the latest addition to the drama pilot, a medical soap that follows the outspoken Alex Panttiere (Melissa George), one of the rare female heart transplant surgeons. Alex brings an innovative eye to treating patients week to week while also balancing the complications of her professional and romantic life. He'll play Dr. Forester, "who was left with a nasty scar and one arm by the war in Iraq." D.L. Hughley (Dr. Hackett), Dave Annable (Pierson "Pierce" Harrison), Don Hany (Jessie Shane), Jamie Kennedy (Dr. Callahan), Joshua Leonard (Max), Maya Erskine (Gi-Sung) and Shelley Conn (Millicent Newbauer) also star. SUPER CLYDE (CBS/CBSP; W: Greg Garcia; D: Rebecca Asher) - Mark Addy ("Still Standing") is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about Clyde (Charlie McDermott), a meek, unassuming fast food worker who decides to become a "superhero" for the downtrodden after inheriting his uncle's fortune. He'll play "Clyde's sidekick, the fastidious, precise, careful and far-thinking Randolph. After assisting Clyde's Uncle Bill in all his secret charitable endeavors during his employment as a butler, he soon becomes Clyde's only confidante, the Alfred to Clyde's Bruce Wayne, his assistant in doing good while staying under the radar." Stephen Fry originated the role in the project's previous incarnation. Diane Guerrero also stars. (Deadline.com)


UNCLE BUCK (ABC/ABCS; W: Brian Bradley & Steven Cragg; D: Phil Traill) - James Lesure ("Men at Work") has booked a lead role on the comedy pilot, based on John Hughes's 1989 film about Buck Russell (Mike Epps), a childish man who learns how to be an adult by taking care of his brother Will's kids in a very childish way. He'll play the aforementioned Will, husband to Alexis (Nia Long) and the reasonable, patient father to their three children: 5-year-old Maizy (Aalyrah Caldwell) who's the dreamer, 9-year-old Miles (Sayeed Shahidi) who likes to stir the pot, and 16-yearold Tia (Iman Benson) who is the straight A student and trying to get rid of her nerdy image. UNTITLED NASIM PEDRAD PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Nasim Pedrad ("Saturday Night Live") has inked a development deal with the network and 20th Century Fox Television to write, executive produce and star in a potential comedy project for the duo and 3 Arts Entertainment. Pedrad previously starred in the network's "Mulaney" and will be seen in its upcoming "Scream Queens" anthology. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED O'SHANNON & WARREN PROJECT (CBS/CBSP; W: Dan O'Shannon & Peter Warren; D: Pamela Fryman) - Adam Brody ("Billy & Billie") has scored the lead role on the comedy pilot, about a group of friends and family at three different times in their lives. He'll play Andrew, "a guy who sees the best in everything. Even at 40, when life's twists and turns have taken a bit of wind out of his sails, it only takes the reappearance of his childhood crush, Holly, to awaken his love of life and belief in happy endings." Kelly O'Sullivan and Tyler Labine also star. (Deadline.com)
