By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

BASTARD, THE (FOX, New!) - Rob Rosell and David Hornsby have booked a script commitment at the network - with a penalty attached - for a new single-camera comedy about Warren, "a hardworking hotel janitor who has a freak accident at work and is told by his mother, who mistakenly thinks he's on his death bed, that he's the bastard son of the wealthy founder of the hotel chain. Warren seeks out his real father, hoping to connect, and eventually earns a place in the wealthy but dysfunctional family." 20th Century Fox Television is producing. (Deadline.com)
BLACKLIST, THE: REDEMPTION (NBC) - Terry O'Quinn has signed onto the spin-off series as the father of Ryan Eggold's character, Howard Hargrave: "the founder of Halcyon Aegis, the international private military contracting firm for which they all work. He is brilliant, an asymmetrical thinker, and a visionary leader. He is also a man driven by deeply held moral convictions that can put him at odds with his own company." (EW.com)
DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (The CW) - Elyse Levesque ("The Originals") has been cast as Guinevere of King Arthur fame in an upcoming episode of the series. (EW.com)
GANGLAND UNDERCOVER (A&E) - The cable channel has quietly pulled the show's second season from its Thursday lineup. To fill said void, "The First 48" and "Nightwatch" will each slide back an hour to 9:00/8:00c and 10:00/9:00c, respectively, beginning this week.
MARCO POLO (Netflix) - The streaming service has canceled the period drama after two seasons. "We want to thank and are grateful to our partners on 'Marco Polo' from the actors, whose performances were enthralling and top-notch; to the committed producers, including John Fusco, Dan Minahan, Patrick Macmanus, and their crew, who poured their hearts into the series; and of course Harvey, David and our friends at TWC, who were great collaborators from start to finish," said Cindy Holland, Netflix VP of Original Content, in a statement. (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Brandon Spink has been tapped to take over as Baelfire on the series, succeeding Dylan Schmid. (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED REBA MCENTIRE PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Reba McEntire is returning to the small screen as part of a new drama from "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry: "Set in motion after a horrible, suspected act of terrorism happens at a 4th of July parade in the small town of Oxblood, Kentucky. The FBI sends a cocky agent of Middle Eastern descent to investigate. He teams up with the mercurial local Sheriff (McEntire) to uncover secrets far darker than either could have ever imagined." The ABC Studios-based project, which has a penalty attached, will also be executive produced by Sabrina Wind of Cherry-Wind Productions and Acme Productions' Mindy Schultheis and Michael Hanel.
