Filmed in a TV studio and in the field, over the course of a season, the series will profile each state across the U.S. and its up-and-coming artists. Using immersive and cinematic styles, the series tell the backstories and reveal the stakes for featured contestants." Samie Kim Falvey and Justin Wilkes of Imagine Entertainment and Richard Wallace of SyCo Entertainment would also executive produce the project. (Deadline.com)
BLACK-ISH (ABC) - Katlyn Nichol, who guest starred in last season's finale as Junior's (Marcus Scribner) new girlfriend Olivia, will return as a regular this season. (Deadline.com)

HIGH SCHOOL (IMDb TV, New!) - Clea DuVall has sold a coming-of-age comedy series to the streaming service based on the bestselling memoir by Grammy-nominated recording artists Tegan and Sara Quin: "Through a backdrop of '90s grunge and rave culture, the series tangles itself in the parallel and discordant memories of two sisters growing up down the hall from one another. This is a story about finding your own identity - a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own." DuVall is writing and directing the debut installment for Plan B Entertainment and Amazon Studios. The Quins will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
MIXED-ISH (ABC) - "Black-ish" showrunner Courtney Lilly has been promoted to said role on the spin-off series as well. He'll take over from Karin Gist, who has shifted her focus to her own development. (Deadline.com)

Despite his casual irreverence, which Liz finds infuriating, Heath cares deeply for his work and like Liz, is willing to do whatever it takes to make the world a better place. Even though Heath and Liz don't always see eye to eye, his different approach ultimately pushes her to break her old patterns and discover new ways of looking at the world." (Deadline.com)
RUN THE WORLD (Starz) - Tosin Morohunfola has been tapped for a role on the upcoming comedy as Ola, "Whitney's (Amber Stevens West) amiable and joyful Nigerian-American fiancé who also happens to be a sexy ER doctor. Whitney and Ola have been in love since their freshman year of college. Over ten years later, with their wedding fast approaching, Ola's deep understanding of Whitney's neurotic tendencies is being tested. Ola has always been Whitney's rock, but lately, he feels like she's leaning elsewhere." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED DAVID WEIL PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - David Weil is spearheading "a dramatic and thought-provoking anthology series that explores the deeper meaning of human connection in the near future" at the streaming service. Weil, who has an overall deal with Amazon Studios, will executive produce the seven-episode series alongside Melina Matsoukas, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Laura Lancaster with Pixie Wespiser serving as a producer. Matsoukas and Taylor-Johnson will direct two episodes alongside Weil, who will be making his directorial debut on the show. (Deadline.com)
WILD RABBIT (Hulu, New!) - Randy McKinnon has booked a semi-autobiographical drama at the streaming service which "follows college sports phenom Montel Harris who has the world at his fingertips. But life changes after he is assaulted and suffers a career-ending injury just weeks before draft day. Now forced to figure out a new plan to survive his impoverished Miami neighborhood and take care of his family, he is lured into the dark underworld of performance enhancing drugs." The project is set up at Passenger, Fremantle and 20th Television with director Reinaldo Marcus Green, Richard Brown and Stephen Love likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
WOMAN IN THE HOUSE, THE (Netflix, New!) - Kristen Bell is set to topline an eight-episode limited series at the streaming service which revolves around Anna, a heartbroken woman who feels every day is the same: "She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder... Or did she?" Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf are all behind the project with Gloria Sanchez Productions' Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Brittney Segal also set to executive produce.
