AMIGOS (NBC, New!) - Sierra Teller Ornelas and Marcos Luevanos are set to team for a multi-camera comedy at the network about "a group of six Latine friends living in Los Angeles who lean and rag on each other as they find love, grow up and figure out what success means in 2022." Morgan Sackett will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
CITIZEN JANE (CBS, New!) - Jay Beattie has sold a new drama the Eye in which "haunted by her sister's unsolved murder, a law school dropout turned citizen sleuth partners with a jaded homicide detective seeking redemption to solve cold cases and deliver justice across the country." Adventure Media's Chris von Goetz and James Robins Early will also executive produce for CBS Studios. (Deadline.com)
FOR JUSTICE (CBS, New!) - Sallie Patrick and Garen Thomas have set up a potential drama at the Eye in which "after overcoming a painful past, a tenacious, freethinking NYC homicide detective repurposes her survival skills to solve the cities highest profile murder cases." The project is based on the life of former NYPD Detective Katrina Brownlee with Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell and Derrick Johnson also executive producing for the NAACP and CBS Studios. GORDITA CHRONICLES (HBO Max) - The streamer is set to pull the series - which was axed back in July - from its service. (@brigliebs)
MRS. AMERICA (FX on Hulu) - Executive producer Dahvi Waller has signed a multi-year overall television deal with Lionsgate Television. (Deadline.com)
PACT, THE (CBS, New!) - Marcus Dalzine has booked a new drama at the Eye in which "after a childhood pact leads three friends from inner-city Newark to become doctors, they reunite in their hometown to open a medical center to serve their community." The project is based on the book of the same name, subtitled "Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream," by Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, Rameck Hunt, and Lisa Frazier Page. Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell and Derrick Johnson are also executive producing for the NAACP and CBS Studios. (Deadline.com)
UNDER THE BRIDGE (Hulu) - The Riley Keough-led limited series has cast Archie Panjabi as Suman Virk, Reena's mother, "a devout Jehovah's Witness and a woman who is desperately trying to bring her daughter to heel after a tumultuous year of rebellion"; Vritika Gupta as Reena Virk, "a self-conscious, uneasy yet bold loner searching for a group of friends she can call her own"; Javon "Wanna" Walton as Warren, who "a soft-spoken and baby-faced kid who is considered a "role model" by his peers and teachers"; and Aiyana Goodfellow as Dusty, "a member of the CMC (Crip Mafia Cartel, a "gang" Josephine started) and has a genuine and close friendship with Reena before her death." VERY BACKSTREET HOLIDAY, A (ABC) - The Alphabet has pulled the one-hour special after "a woman who claims Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter raped her when she was a teenager after one of the group's concerts announced she is filing a lawsuit." Originally slated for Wednesday, December 14 at 8:00/7:00c, repeats will instead fill the time period. (Deadline.com)
