DESCRIPTION:
(from Netflix's press release, October 2025) Set in Marseille in 1815, the show stars Fleurot as Mercédès Herrera, a heroine ready to do anything for the man she loves, Edmond Dantès, a sailor with a bright future ahead of him. When he is imprisoned on the basis of false testimony, with no hope of release, the intrepid Mercédès tries to break him out of jail. Edmond is killed during their escape attempt and she herself finds herself imprisoned. Her new mission will be to take revenge on those who destroyed her life: Fernand, her own cousin, who is secretly in love with her; Danglars, an ambitious manipulator; and above all Héloïse de Villefort, the implacable wife of the town prosecutor. |
