BARRY TRIES TO PROVE BEVERLY WRONG IN HIS CHEMISTRY CLASS WHILE ADAM NEEDS ERICA'S ADVICE FOR HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH EMMY, ON ABC'S 'THE GOLDBERGS'

"O Captain! My Captain!"- Beverly substitutes for Barry's chemistry class in hopes to inspire students in the same way as Mr. Keating from "Dead Poets Society," much to Barry's embarrassment. When Beverly refuses to give Barry special treatment, Murray pushes Barry to work hard and prove to her that he can get a good grade. Meanwhile, after accidentally embarrassing Emmy by reading a note about her in class, Adam enlists Erica's help to be a better friend, on "The Goldbergs," WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. "The Goldbergs" stars Wendi McLendon-Covey ("Bridesmaids") as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswalt ("Ratatouille") as adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Troy Gentile ("Good Luck Chuck") as Barry Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia ("The X Factor") as Erica Goldberg, AJ Michalka as Lainey Lewis, with George Segal ("Just Shoot Me") as Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlin ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") as Murray Goldberg.

For geeky and movie obsessed youngest child Adam, his wonder years were spent documenting the hilarious and awkward antics of his colorful family. Mom Beverly is at her best when she's meddling, matchmaking and bedazzling her way through life, while Dad Murray parents from the comfort of his recliner in his underpants. Oldest sister Erica dreams of being a pop star if she can only overcome her secret love of all things uncool. Then there's middle child Barry who's just as in touch with his emotions as he is with his sick rap skills, which is how he landed Erica's best friend and the hottest girl in school, Lainey, as his girlfriend. Rounding out the brood is beloved grandfather Al "Pops" Solomon, the wild man of the clan.
