FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The 82-minute mid-season premiere of AMC's "The Walking Dead" Season 8 airs Sunday, February 25th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. On the all-new episode, "Honor," Rick and the group deal with the revelation of Carl's fatal walker bite as the war against Negan and the Saviors continues.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, "The Walking Dead" reigns as television's most watched drama for Adults 18-49. "The Walking Dead" tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse, and follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The series is executive produced by showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero and Tom Luse.

Following the episode, viewers can catch an all-new episode of "Talking Dead" hosted by Chris Hardwick at 10:22 p.m.ET/PT, featuring "The Walking Dead" star Chandler Riggs and executive producer Greg Nicotero.

Then late night, an all-new episode of "Comic Book Men" airs. In the new episode, "Ode to Clerks" actress Rosario Dawson stops by and Kevin Smith and the guys attend a premiere screening of Ode to Clerks, a film about themselves and how Clerks came to be.

In its seventh season, AMC's popular unscripted series "Comic Book Men," takes another dive into the world of geekdom by following the antics in and around master fanboy Kevin Smith's New Jersey comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. Leading the team behind the shop's counter are Walt, Bryan, Michael and Ming, who geek out over mind-blowing pop culture artifacts and the legends behind them. Special guests this season include "Luke Cage" star Mike Colter, Rosario Dawson, Burt Ward, Method Man, and Freddy Kruger himself, Robert Englund. Whether it's buying and selling memorabilia or embarking on wild adventures away from the store, The Stash cast shares all the juicy details with Kevin during their hilarious podcast, which is woven throughout the series.

The series premiere of "McMafia" airs Monday, February 26th at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. In the premiere episode, after a tragic event, Russian exile Alex Godman (James Norton) is drawn into the murky world of global crime as he tries to protect his family from their dark past.

"McMafia" charts Alex Godman's (Norton) journey through a terrifying labyrinth of international criminals, money launderers, corrupt politicians and ruthless intelligence agencies. As the English-raised son of Russian exiles with a mafia history, Alex has spent his life trying to escape the shadow of his family's criminal past by building his own legitimate business and forging a life with his girlfriend. When his family's past murderously returns to threaten the life he has built, Alex is drawn into the criminal world and forced to confront his values to protect those he loves. What starts out as a story of survival and revenge becomes an epic tale of one man's struggle against the lures of corruption in the modern world and in himself.

DESCRIPTION:
(from AMC's press release, January 2018) AMC today made a number of announcements related to "The Walking Dead," the highest-rated cable series in history and the #1 show on television for the last six seasons and counting. The series is being renewed for a ninth season, to premiere in late 2018; current showrunner Scott M. Gimple is being elevated to Chief Content Officer, overseeing the entire "Dead" television universe, including "The Walking Dead," "Fear the Walking Dead," and potential brand extensions on a variety of platforms; and Angela Kang, who has been a writer on the show since 2011 and co-executive producer since 2013, is being promoted by Gimple to executive producer and showrunner of "The Walking Dead," starting with season nine. "This is an enormously important day for the entire 'The Walking Dead' television universe. We are proud to acknowledge Angela's significant contribution to the series and to set a clear path forward for a ninth season under her direction. Further, with gratitude and admiration, we also recognize Scott's broad impact on, and leadership of, the content that fuels our TWD universe. Together, we will dream bigger and more broadly than ever before," said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. "I know I speak for Angela, Scott and everyone at AMC when I say thanks most of all to the fans and the many talented people who have helped AMC play 'Dead.'" "'The Walking Dead' is a special show which started in an entirely different era of TV, and continues, in this new era, to confidently take chances to tell compelling stories that excite audiences and make them deeply connect with its characters, adapting Robert Kirkman's brilliant comic book," Gimple said. "As the show closes in on its tenth year, I'm honored to keep working with the talented, dedicated people behind and in front of the camera to make it all it can be, while expanding the world of 'The Walking Dead' with new narratives like 'Fear the Walking Dead' and a whole host of truly cool stories ahead. Angela is a big part of the heart and soul of 'The Walking Dead,' and I'm thrilled to help facilitate her vision of the show's next era." "I am beyond thrilled to be stepping into this new role with 'The Walking Dead.' Working on this series and having the opportunity to adapt Robert Kirkman's amazing comic has been a fangirl dream come true for me," said Kang. "I'm excited to continue working with Scott and the wonderfully supportive folks at AMC, and can't wait to share the next chapter of the story with our fans next fall."
