VH1's Internet Video Clip Show 'Web Junk 20,' Premieres Friday, January 13 at 11:30 PM*
One Person's Web Junk is Another's Email Treasure
PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 12 -- Have you seen the web clip of
the police officer shooting himself in the foot while teaching a gun safety
class at a local high school? Or the one where a local newscaster falls flat
on her face while demonstrating how to make wine the old-fashion way? The
internet has proven to be a double-edged sword. Not only has it been the
single-most important advancement for mankind and modern technology, but it
also has made it a lot easier to watch video clips of celebrity slip-ups,
animated satire, bloopers and every day people at their most outrageous.
VH1 has partnered with IFILM to launch the new weekly countdown show, "Web
Junk 20," premiering Friday, January 13 at 11:30 PM*. Hosted by comic Patrice
O'Neal, "Web Junk 20," will celebrate and bring a unique look at all the
weirdest, wildest and most hilarious internet video clips out there. Patrice
will guide viewers through this internet journey with hilarious commentary on
each clip.
Each week, viewers can tune in and see the top 20 clips that will have
everyone buzzing around the water cooler. "Web Junk 20" brings together all of
those emails with the heading, "LOL! Don't open at work" with VH1's unique
perspective. If they're good enough for you to send to your entire email
address book they're good enough for VH1.
VH1 and IFILM partnered on "Web Junk 20" after MTV Networks' acquisition
of IFILM in October 2005. In addition to providing research on show, IFILM
will make each clip in its entirety available on its web site at
http://www.IFILM.com, and will provide viewers with the ability to upload
clips for consideration in future episodes of "Web Junk 20".
Each episode of "Web Junk 20" will be available on-demand on VH1's
broadband network, VSPOT (http://vspot.vh1.com) after airing on VH1 every
Friday night. Exclusive outtakes of Patrice's commentary will also be
available on VSPOT.
"Web Junk 20" is a production of VH1 and executive produced by Richard
Hankey, Shelly Tatro and Michael Hirschorn, for VH1.
