BASTARD EXECUTIONER (FX/Fox 21/FXP; W: Kurt Sutter; D: TBA) - Katey Sagal ("Sons of Anarchy") is the first to be cast in her husband Kurt Sutter's drama pilot, which "tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward III's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. But when that violence finds him again, he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all." No details about her role were given. (Deadline.com)


BRAUNSCHLAG (FOX, New!) - Rob Riggle is set to star in a domestic take on David Schalko's Austrian single-camera comedy of the same name, about "the quirky inhabitants of a small struggling town whose mayor (Riggle) is prepared to do anything to save his community. Seriously. Anything." Steve Hely ("The Office") is spearheading the adaptation, which has a put pilot commitment, for 20th Century Fox Television with Intrigue's Tariq Jalil and Principato-Young Entertainment's Peter Principato and Paul Young also serving as executive producers. FROM HELL (FX, New!) - Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell's famed graphic novel-turned-film - which "tells the tale of Jack the Ripper with the killer himself as the main character" - is being developed as a drama series at the cable channel. David Arata (Children of Men) is set to pen the script, with Don Murphy, who produced the film, also serving as an executive producer alongside Angry Films' Susan Montford. FX Productions and Fox Television Studios are co-producing. (Deadline.com)
