CRUEL INTENTIONS (NBC, New!) - Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross ("The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel Intentions") are developing a small screen revival of the 1999 cult feature about "the 16-year-old son of the late Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon), named Bash Casey. Upon finding his late father's journal, Bash learns of the family legacy he didn't know existed. In search of answers, he trades his small-town Kansas upbringing for a scholarship to the prestigious Brighton Preparatory Academy in San Francisco and soon finds himself in a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined." Director Roger Kumble and Original Film's Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty are likewise on board to executive produce the Sony Pictures Television-based project, which has a penalty attached, with Rosin and Ross writing and co-executive producing. FOX previously took a stab at a small screen take in 2000 with "Manchester Prep," which was ultimately recut into a direct-to-DVD feature. (Deadline.com)

EMERALD CITY (NBC/Universal; W: David Schulner; D: Tarsem Singh) - Vincent D'Onofrio ("Marvel's Daredevil") has been tapped for a role in the upcoming drama, in which Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) and her K9 police dog are transported to another world, one far removed from our own - a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy. He'll play The Wizard of Oz, "the enigmatic leader of Emerald City. A man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and a tenuous accord with the grand witches." Jordan Loughran and Mido Hamada have likewise been cast as Tip and Eamonn, respectively. (Deadline.com)

IN TIME (FOX, New!) - Julius Sharpe ("Family Guy") has booked a potential live-action comedy at the network about "three friends who try to balance the adventure of time travel with the mundane concerns of their present day lives." 20th Century Fox Television-based Lord Miller is behind the project, with its principals Phil Lord and Christopher Miller also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)

INCRIMINATION (FOX, New!) - Justin Lo ("Mistresses") has booked a potential drama at the network about Sienna, "a young woman with narcissistic personality disorder who infiltrates a law firm in order to find the truth behind her sister's murder. While working for this firm, she takes the law into her own hands, making sure that if the justice system doesn't work she will find a way." ABC Studios is behind the hour with Rina Mimoun also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)

KING LIZ (Showtime, New!) - Fernanda Coppel has sold a potential comedy to the pay channel based on her play of the same name, about "an aggressive female sports agent and the contentious relationship with her ambitious assistant." Said effort "premiered at Second Stage Uptown this summer and played an extended run, closing last month." (Deadline.com)

SHOOTER (USA/Paramount/UCP; W: John Hlavin; D: Simon Cellan Jones) - David Marciano ("Homeland") is the latest to be cast in the book-turned-feature-turned-drama pilot, about Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe), an off-the-grid former Marine sniper who is coaxed into action to thwart the killing of the President. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he must call upon all the skills he acquired as a decorated Marine sharpshooter to avoid capture while hunting down and exposing the traitors who set him up. He'll play Senior FBI agent John Renlow, "partner to Nadine Memphis (Emily Rios), a lifetime bureaucrat whose career in the agency is happily close to retirement." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED MISTY COPELAND PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Misty Copeland, the first African-American principal dancer at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre, is developing a new drama at the network about "a young, hip and diverse group of aspiring dancers as they fiercely compete for places in a top ballet company." Tracy Oliver ("Survivor's Remorse") is on board to pen the project, which has been set up at 20th Century Fox Television. Principato-Young Entertainment's Brian Dobbins, Peter Principato and Paul Young will also executive produce alongside the duo. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Nickelodeon has opted to call it quits on "Instant Mom" after three seasons, with the remaining episodes set to finish up on Saturday nights at 8:00/7:00c on sibling TV Land (Deadline.com); Bridget Regan has joined the cast of "The Last Ship" as Sasha, "a former Navy Intelligence Officer now operating under diplomatic cover in China for the newly reformed United States government" (Deadline.com); Jay Huguley will recur on "The Walking Dead" as "one of the residents of the Alexandra Safe Zone community" (Deadline.com); Louis Talpe has signed onto ABC's "Of Kings and Prophets" as Eliab, "David's proud and single-minded older brother" (Deadline.com); Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz have inked a multi-year, first-look deal with Lionsgate Television (Deadline.com); Stephen Merchant and Analeigh Tipton will both drop by upcoming episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" (THR.com); and Anne Heche will visit "Quantico" as "a former FBI agent and medical examiner who is now a bestselling author and pundit" (TVLine.com).
