A SPECIAL EPISODE OF MAURY MARKS THIRD YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 BY HONORING THE CAST OF THE ACADEMY AWARD-WINNING DOCUMENTARY TWIN TOWERS

Airdate: Friday, September 10

NEW YORK - September 8, 2004 - During a special episode of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's MAURY on Friday, September 10, New Yorker Maury Povich marks the three-year Anniversary of 9/11 by taking a look back at that tragic day with the cast of the Academy Award-winning documentary Twin Towers, now available in video stores. Povich served as an executive producer. MAURY is nationally syndicated (check local listings for station and time).

Twin Towers, which won an Oscar in 2003, is about bravery, courage and the ultimate sacrifice that two very special brothers made. The film honors New York City Detective Joe Vigiano, who worked with the elite emergency services unit, and his older brother John, who was a New York City firefighter. Both were killed as they tried to rescue people from The World Trade Center on that fateful day.

On this special episode of MAURY, their father John Vigiano, who is one of New York City's most highly decorated fire captains, joins the show in memory of his heroic sons. He tells MAURY viewers, "I urge you to go to the video store and get a hold of Twin Towers and watch it with your family. By doing that, you will honor the memory of two great men and the legacy of courage and bravery they leave behind."

Also joining the show is the officer responsible for introducing the heroic Vigiano story to the producers of Twin Tower Detective Tom Buda, along with New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and Detective Kevin Tolan, who was Joe Vigiano's best friend and one of the last to speak to Joe on the morning of September 11, 2001.

Later in the show, MAURY surprises John Vigiano's two grandsons, 11-year-old Joey and 9-year-old Jimmy Vigiano, with a shopping spree to Toys-R-Us, along with a wagon full of toys and a remote control battle tank for the two boys, who join the show to tell the memories of their heroic dad, Joe. MAURY also updates viewers on guests from prior shows who lost loved ones on 9/11.
