Fabulous Life' Return For New Seasons
VH1 Greenlights Two New Series 'Love Lounge' and 'BSTV'
NEW YORK, March 10 -- Following on the heels of its highest-
rated February in history, VH1 pumps up the volume by picking up new episodes
of some of its hottest series "Surreal Life, "Celebrity Fit Club,"
"Motormouth," Best Week Ever" and "The Fabulous Life" and launching two new
series "BSTV" and "Love Lounge."
RETURNING SERIES
THE SURREAL LIFE - 10 episodes
They're baack!! A new magnificent seven will move into "The Surreal Life"
mansion in the Hollywood hills to face new adventures and maybe new love in
the fifth season of this weekly series. The fourth season of "The Surreal
Life" featured former wrestler Joanie Laurer; Jane Wiedlin (The Go-Gos);
Christopher Knight ("The Brady Bunch"); Verne Troyer ("Austin Powers"); model
Marcus Schenkenberg; rap star Da Brat; and Adrianne Curry ("America's Next Top
Model"). The third season made its series premiere on VH1 with the now
legendary cast of Dave Coulier, Flavor Flav, Jordan Knight, Brigitte Nielsen,
Ryan Starr and Charo. The new season premieres summer of 2005.
"The Surreal Life" is a production of Mindless Entertainment and 51
Pictures. Mark Cronin and Cris Abrego are executive producers.
CELEBRITY FIT CLUB - 8 episodes
Eight brave celebrities will step forward and acknowledge that they've
been losing the battle of the bulge in the second season of this weekly hit
series. After being divided into two teams, the celebrity contestants will
endure the brutal VH1 Fit Camp led by the take-no-prisoners Marine Drill
Sergeant, Harvey Walden IV. Team challenges range from Tae Bo with Billy
Blanks to swim relays and a grueling weekly fitness assessment. At the end of
each week, they will face the loneliest walk on television as they step on the
scales to get weighed individually and then as a team on the biggest weighing
scales in the world.
A Granada Television production, "Celebrity Fit Club" is executive
produced by Jim Ackerman and Matt Hanna for VH1.
BEST WEEK EVER
For over a year, VH1's this half-hour weekly series has captured the ups
and downs of pop culture - delivering "everything you loved, everything you
missed, and everything you have to see again," week after week. Each episode
provides a free-wheeling and funny review of the entertaining news and pop
culture developments that make the past week the "Best Week Ever" with comics,
actors and musicians providing their provocative, amusing and slightly twisted
takes on the high (and low) points of the big and small stories of the week.
New episodes premiere every Friday.
"Best Week Ever" is a production of VH1, with Sean Johnson serving as
Series Producer and Fred Graver as Executive Producer. Michael Hirschorn and
Jim Ackerman also serve as Executive Producers.
MOTORMOUTH - 20 episodes
VH1's hidden camera series, is back with all-new group of America's worst
singers and most outrageous drivers. Each daily episode features contestants
from two cities, all unknowingly vying for the title of "Motormouth" for that
town as chosen by VH1. Round One catches the unsuspecting drivers singing
alone. In Round Two, these clueless crooners are joined by their friends, who
have set them up for the prank, to encourage their awful singing and
ridiculous behavior. In Round Three, VH1 ambushes the dashboard divas and
reveals that they have been caught singing on national television. At the end
of each episode, the dubious vocalists square off as we crown that episode's
Ultimate Motormouth. The new season premieres Sunday, May 16
"Motormouth" is a production of VH1. VH1 executives in charge of
production are Jeff Olde and Jill Modabber.
THE FABULOUS LIFE - 10 episodes
VH1's series "The Fabulous Life..." is back for its third season with more
baubles, bling, and big rides than ever before. The series first premiered in
January 2002 with "The Fabulous Life of Jennifer Lopez" and in subsequent
seasons has revealed the first class living of stars like Martha Stewart,
Paris Hilton, Nelly, and Usher.
"The Fabulous Life ... " was developed by series producer Matt Sharp and
is executive produced by Matt Hanna and Michael Hirschorn.
NEW SERIES
LOVE LOUNGE - 10 episodes
VH1's "Love Lounge" is a new half-hour nightly series that takes the
temperature of America's relationships. Throughout each episode, groups of
celebrities reveal aspects about their own relationships and give their
opinions about love, marriage and intimacy. The series also includes results
from VH1 polls that gauge how the rest of America handles their own
relationships. These discussions are punctuated by pop culture reflections of
love and relationships from comedic television and film. The new series
premieres, March 27.
"Love Lounge" is executive produced by George Moll; David Osper and
Michael Maddocks are co-executive producers; Michael McNamara is the director;
Dennis Herzig is creative consultant. Kim Rozenfeld and Damla Dogan serve as
executives in charge of production for VH1.
BSTV - 16 episodes
People will do just about anything to become famous. Welcome to VH1's new
social experiment that delights in pushing people's limits to find out just
how much they'll take for TV fame and fortune. Each weekly episode invites
real people and celebrities to participate in what they believe to be casting
calls and pilot tapings for the latest, hottest new reality shows coming to
the tube. What they don't know is that every audition is 100% fake. Each
concept is pulled off by our cast of professionally trained improv actors
posing as the show's producers and talent. No matter how much "B.S." is doled
out by our cast of accomplices, eager reality show wannabes and celebrities
always seem ready to believe any bogus concept for their chance at fame. The
series premieres Sunday, May 16.
"BSTV" is a production of VH1 in conjunction with Ealing Studios. Rob
Moore and Paul Garner serve as executive producers for Ealing Studios and Jim
