WHO'S THE BIGGEST BADDEST DADDY ON YOUR TELEVISION BLOCK? NBC WANTS TO KNOW WITH ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW FAMILY-FRIENDLY COMPETITION SERIES, 'MY DAD IS BETTER THAN YOUR DAD'

Fun-filled Reality Game Show Comes from Producers of "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" (Mark Burnett Productions) and NBC's "The Biggest Loser" (Reveille)

BURBANK -- September 26, 2007 -- NBC will introduce "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad," a fun-filled, family-friendly competition series from the producers of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (Mark Burnett Productions) and NBC's "The Biggest Loser" (Reveille). The series will finally prove the familiar schoolyard boast -- "My dad is better than your dad!"

Dads will be at the forefront of the action competing with their families in a series of unique stunt-driven challenges. In the end, the families will win the ultimate prize and bragging rights.

The eight-episode series -- slated for mid-season -- was announced today by Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment.

"Every kid thinks their dad is the best, and this series is designed to let them see who really is top dog on the block," said Plestis. "Plus, the children will benefit with prize money that can be used for their future education. I also feel very confident because this series is in the capable hands of Reveille and Mark Burnett Productions, who are the 'big daddies' of the reality genre."

"I love this concept because it combines the family-fun and kid-empowerment of 'Fifth Grader' with the universally relatable concept of bragging that your dad is the best," said executive producer Mark Burnett. "This will make for a worldwide family hit."

"With its huge fun, play-along factor, 'My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad' is a show that everyone can relate to," said Howard Owens, executive producer and Managing Director, Reveille. "Families will watch this program together and see the bond between fathers and their children grow and become stronger through a series of unique challenges. It's that awesome and tight-knit relationship between families that will make this show special and fun for viewers all across the country."

The dads will lead their respective families in exciting and entertaining stunt games and larger than life challenges that all parents can relate to. Ultimately, the triumphant family will strut away with money for their children's futures. Likewise, valuable prizes will be given away as the competition progresses.

"My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" was created by Jon Hotchkiss and is a production of Reveille, Mark Burnett Productions and Hotchkiss Industries. Mark Burnett ("Survivor," "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader"), Roy Bank ("Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader"), Mark Koops ("The Biggest Loser"), Howard Owens ("The Biggest Loser") and Jon Hotchkiss ("Penn & Teller: Bullshit!") are the executive producers.
