UNIVERSAL MEDIA STUDIOS NAMES NORA O'BRIEN VICE PRESIDENT OF DRAMA PROGRAMMING

UNIVERSAL CITY, California January 29, 2008 Nora O'Brien has been named Vice President of Drama Programming, Universal Media Studios, it was announced today by Elisa Roth, Senior Vice President, Drama, Universal Media Studios.

"We are excited to have Nora join our drama team," said Roth. "She knows how to think out of the box, has terrific relationships in the creative community and is a hard worker who has already become a valuable asset to our studio."

O'Brien comes to Universal Media Studios from the SCI FI Channel, where she was Vice President of Original Programming. During her four-year tenure there, she developed episodic and long-form programs, including the critically acclaimed miniseries "The Lost Room," and she was the current programming executive on "Stargate" and "Stargate Atlantis." She also interfaced with SCIFI.com on programming ideas and initiatives.

In her new studio position, O'Brien will act as both a development and a current executive for scripted series. Some of her projects include Tom Fontana's "The Philanthropist," which NBC recently picked up as a 13-episode series and the new drama "Bionic Woman," in addition to a number of pilots in development.

Before the SCI FI Channel, O'Brien worked for five years as Vice President of Television for Trilogy Entertainment Group, overseeing development and current programming.

O'Brien graduated from Boston College with a bachelor of arts degree in economics and communications. She then began her career as an associate producer for Reunion Productions in Boston, where she wrote and produced documentary films. She proceeded to work on both the production and post-production side of several feature films, including "School Ties," "Sliver," "Clear and Present Danger," "Outbreak" and "Starship Troopers."
