BRAVO SKYROCKETS KATHY GRIFFIN FROM THE "D-LIST" TO THE "A-LIST"

Two-Time Emmy Winner Adds Encore Hosting Duties For The "A-List Awards," Two Comedy Specials And A Fifth Season Of "My Life On The D-List" In 2009

NEW YORK, NY November 20, 2008 Bravo has inked award-winning comedienne and perpetual D-Lister Kathy Griffin to a one-year deal and star-studded A-List action in 2009, including encore hosting duties for Bravo's second annual "A-List Awards," two comedy specials and, as previously announced, a fifth season pick-up for the two-time Emmy-winning series "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List." With such a full slate of Bravo specials and series on tap for 2009, Griffin is one step closer to her dream of branding herself like Suzanne Somers.

No one can lampoon powerful A-Listers better than Griffin, earning the comedian a return performance as host of Bravo's second annual "A-List Awards," which celebrates the best in food, fashion, beauty, design and pop culture, honoring those who have made an indelible mark in the arts, and showcasing some of the leading creative minds working today. And although Griffin is excited to once again give awards to such deserving creative types, her true passion remains getting awards like her Emmys.

The two-time Emmy award winning "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List" begins production on its anticipated fifth season in January 2009. In each episode, Griffin falls into unique and unsettling, but always hilarious predicaments, with her assistant, Tiffany Rinehart, her tour manager, Tom Vize, her bubbly mom, Maggie, and her unruly dogs, Chance and Pom Pom, never far from her side. Michael Levitt Productions and Picture This Television will produce the fifth season of "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" for Bravo.

Next year, Bravo will also unveil two all-new, one-hour stand-up specials featuring the talented comedienne on her current nationwide tour, in which she recounts her surreal celebrity encounters and shares her various pathos and vulnerabilities as an underappreciated D-Lister. Griffin's controversial stand-up performances continue to uncover the aspects of celebrity and pop culture that everyone knows, but few have the guts to say.
